11 Cottage Cheese Recipes • Kath Eats

From protein-packed pancakes to savory lasagna, these 11 cottage cheese recipes are easy and delicious!

Have you noticed…Cottage cheese is having its moment!

Known for its creamy texture, protein content, and mild flavor, this dairy product is a nutritional powerhouse. Packed with high-quality protein, calcium, and various other essential nutrients, I completely understand why cottage cheese is taking recipes by storm.

While many turn their up nose to eating it straight up due to the curds in the texture, it is an extremely versatile ingredient for both sweet and savory dishes. You don’t have to eat it with a spoon (although lots of people do!). I always tell people who don’t love the texture to blend it into a mousse or smoothie or melt it into recipes – like oatmeal! Often times I just scoop some on top of my salad and mix it up!

Here are a few nutritional reasons why cottage cheese is all the craze.

Protein Powerhouse: Cottage cheese is known for being a great source of protein. A one cup serving can contain around 28 grams of protein. This makes it an excellent choice for individuals looking to increase their protein intake.

Calcium Source: Rich in calcium, cottage cheese contributes to maintaining strong and healthy bones and teeth. A cup of cottage cheese can provide about 138 milligrams of calcium, supporting bone density.

Range of Fat Options: There are various fat content options available, ranging from low-fat to full-fat varieties. While I recommend the full-fat varieties for the best taste, opting for low fat cottage cheese still provides the nutritional benefits.

My Favorite Cottage Cheese

This is not sponsored, but not all cottage cheese is equally delicious. I personally think Good Culture brand is far superior to several other brands I’ve tried. The texture is so good, to the point where I can eat it on its own and it has a wonderful cream-top-like flavor. Sometimes I think cottage cheese can taste a bit sour – not a fan of those kinds.
