If your kids are anything like mine (currently ages 11, 8, and 6) then literal scotch tape is up there in terms of “toys” they like best.
It doesn’t take much!
That said, my holiday gift guide for creative kids features items that invite open-ended, imaginative play. Let little minds run wild with these fun and engaging gifts!

2024 Creative Kids Gift Guide
01. Plus Plus. These are one of my favorite things to take with us to restaurants because they’re not messy and the sky is the limit as to what they can build while we wait.
02. Perler Beads. This classic toy has been a favorite of all three of my kids over the years. We keep this Mini Iron on hand for sealing their creations.
03. Paint by Stickers. No muss, no fuss, but big and beautiful results!
04. My kids LOVE our fort building kit — this Glow in the Dark Fort Building Kit looks even more fun.
05. The Hardest Hidden Picture Book Ever. Another restaurant/car trip must-have.
06. VTech KidiZoom Camera. We’ve had our VTech kids camera for 8 or 9 years. It’s indestructible and has provided our kids with hours and hours of fun.
07. Washi Tape. I’m just going to say it — I HATE SCOTCH TAPE, ha. For many reasons including the fact that it’s impossible to peel off flat surfaces (ask me how I know). Washi tape is similar to painter’s tape in that it is sticky but peels right back off any surface. My kids love letting their imaginations run wild with this stuff. I even used it when they were toddlers — I’d put peels of it all over the wall with one end sticking slightly up and they’d practice their little pincer grip peeling it all off.
08. Non-slip Indoor/Outdoor Stepping Stones — floor is lava, anyone?! Love that these are for indoor/outdoor use, and are non-slip too. So many games to play with these.
09. Thinking Putty for the kiddos that love sensory toys.
10. Crayola Globbles. I LOVE these globs because they stick to each other, but nothing else. They’re also washable under running water.
11. Knot Book. Fun AND practical!
12. Speed Cube will keep your kiddo occupied for hours trying to solve — then they’ll do it again and again and again trying to get faster.
13. Creatibles Clay Kits. These clay kits come with instructions and everything you need to make cute little clay critters.
14. Black Marker Pack for the kiddos who are always searching for a basic black marker.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
