Does the thought of giving your kids more “stuff” for the holidays make you cringe?

Same.

That’s why I LOVE giving books — not just to my kids, but to nieces, nephews, and as donated gifts. Books are gifts that keep on giving, and the ones included in my 2024 Kids Books Gift Guide are ones we read over and over again.

Do you see any of your favorites?

01. My kids adore picking both naughty and nice choices in the What Should Darla Do and companion What Should Danny Do books. Very thrilling. 😉

02. The Snowy Day is a beautifully illustrated and written story. Amazon has a companion episode that we just love, too.

03. Eyes that Kiss in the Corners teaches my kids to appreciate bodies and cultures that are different than our own.

04. Different — A Great Thing to Be. Amen!

05. Gregory the Terrible Eater was a favorite book from my childhood that teaches balanced eating in a fun and silly way.

06. Ambitious Girl. I’ve been reading this book to my daughter for almost 3 years now — we never tire of the theme. BE YOU, BE AMBITIOUS!

07. The Kids’ Book of Diversity: Empathy, Kindness and Respect for Differences. It’s never too early to start teaching empathy.

08. Gratitude is my Super Power. I truly believe gratitude can change your life and it’s a super power you can learn from a young age.

09. Beautiful Oops. This book was read so often and hard that it never made it past my oldest — oops! 😉 But, he has taught the lesson to his brother and sister and we talk about the concept constantly!

10. The Wild Robot. We loved the movie but, as is often the case, the book is even better. And a lot different, too! We actually bought The Wild Robot box set which I’m currently reading to my 8 year old.

11. The Color of Us. Another beauuuuutiful book celebrating diversity.

12. Would You Rather Book for Kids. Such a great way to get conversations (and giggles) flowing with your kids!

13. We’re Different, We’re the Same. A classic that will never not be relevant.

I also have to promote my Dad’s books — he is writing an ode to each grandchild in order of oldest to youngest within each family!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
