Inside: Looking for healthy snacks at ALDI? Here are some great options, whether you want something sweet, savory, or rich in protein.
Whether it’s something sweet savory, or protein-rich you’re hankering for, trust me: There’s a snack match at ALDI.
As a registered dietitian and longtime ALDI shopper, I’ve rounded up my favorite nutritious snacks for you and your kids. Here are some of the best ALDI snacks I’ve found:

If you’re craving…SWEET
Got a sweet tooth? Yeah, me too. Here are some choices that are sweet but still nutrient-rich.
- Chocolate Maxx Bars: This is ALDI’s take on RX Bars and they’ve got the same bare-bones ingredient list and 12 grams of protein per bar.
- Coconut Clusters: Gluten free, simple ingredient list, and less than a teaspoon of added sugar per serving
- Pure & Simple Bars: ALDI’s version of Larabars, they get their sweetness from dates and.
- Greek yogurt smoothie: Made with real berries, with less than half of the sweetness coming from added sugar.
- Granola clusters: These also have 3 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. They’re pretty sweet, so use them to sprinkle on top of yogurt or add to trail mix.
- Trail mix: ALDI has a variety of these trail mixes with nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate pieces.
- Freeze-dried fruit: Tastes like candy but it’s just fruit!
- Flavored Greek yogurt: Top these 100-calorie cups with some sliced bananas or frozen berries
- Snack packs: These individual packs with cheese, fruit, and nuts are like little mini-meals.
Why Shop for Snacks at ALDI?
I consider ALDI my main grocery store because of the great prices, but I also like the simplicity of the stores (fewer options = less decision fatigue and speedier shopping trips).
While not every snack there is a nutritional home run, there are some solid picks at affordable prices.
A few notes before we dive in:
- Some snacks appear in more than one category
- ALDI doesn’t have just one “snack aisle”, you’ll find these in different parts of the store.
- Availability may vary between stores and seasons (so don’t come at me if you can’t find something!)
- Obviously, a snack doesn’t have to come in a package. Though we often think of snacks as chips and snack cakes, anything can be a snack.

If you’re craving…SAVORY
When crunchy, salty, or savory is more your thing, here are some good healthy snacks.
- Popcorn: Just popcorn kernels, oil, and salt.
- Egg bites: Find these in the freezer section. Options include cheddar cheese and ham or turkey sausage and spinach.
- Brown rice crisps: This is one of my ALDI faves. I call them “Fake Doritos” and they’re gluten-free.
- Guacamole singles: Avocado is full of healthy fats. Pair these single-serves with ALDI’s multi-grain tortilla chips.
- Popcorn chips: Think PopChips, ALDI-style. Made from corn grits, oil, sugar, and salt.
- Soft cheese wedges: Channeling Laughing Cow, these spreadable wedges comes in a few varieties.
- Woven Wheats crackers: ALDI’s Triscuits-style whole grain crackers.
- Hummus singles: Hummus on the go. Pair with Woven Wheats or baby carrots.
- Nuts: ALDI has a big selection of different kinds of nuts, including raw, roasted, and seasoned.

If you’re craving…FRUITS & VEGGIES
Of course, all fruits and veggies are snack-worthy. But here are a few standouts:
- Snap peas: Give these a rinse, then dig in.
- Applesauce: This one has no added sugar, which is nice.
- Baby carrots: Ready to eat–and yes, baby carrots are carrots! After opening, store them in a container to keep them fresher.
- Mardarin oranges: Easy-peel and handbag-friendly
- Dates: Eat these plain, stuffed with a little peanut butter, or blend them into a homemade snack bite or breakfast shake.
- Frozen berries: They taste like sorbet straight out of the bag.
- Fruit cups: Look for ones packed in 100% fruit juice.
- Mini bell peppers: After a rinse, you can bite right into these. Awesome for lunchboxes too.
- Freeze-dried fruit: Tastes like candy but made only with real fruit.

If you’re craving…PROTEIN-RICH
Foods like hard-boiled eggs, milk, cottage cheese, and nuts supply protein too. Here are some packaged, ready-to-eat options:
- Protein waffles: 6g protein per waffle. Made with whole wheat flour. Spread them with nut butter or top with Greek yogurt for extra protein.
- Greek yogurt: 15g protein per serving. Greek yogurt is strained, so it’s higher in protein than regular yogurt.
- Egg bites: 15g protein per serving. Find these in the freezer section.
- String cheese: 6g protein per stick. They also have a cheddar cheese or colby-jack cheese sticks.
- Snack packs: 8g protein per pack. These little packs contain good things like cheese cubes, nuts, and dried fruit.
- Almond butter: 6g protein per 2-tablespoon serving. ALDI has both almond butter and peanut butter.
- Maxx bars: 12g protein per bar. Made with dates, egg whites, nuts, and chocolate.
- Greek yogurt smoothie: 10g protein per drink. These are made with actual blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries!
