30 Gluten-Free and Nutrient Dense Thanksgiving Recipes – Deliciously Organic


One thing that I think that’s so important to understand is that when you want to eat healthy and gluten-free you can enjoy so, so many delicious foods. It’s not about restriction, but instead, it’s about nourishing your body with all of the healthy foods God provided for us. This includes at Thanksgiving, Christmas and all of the holidays and celebrations inbetween! Today, I’m giving you a round-up of my all-time favorite and most popular Thanksgiving recipes that are all gluten-free.

Side Dishes

Cornbread and Sausage Stuffing – I’ve been serving this stuffing for several years now and it always draws high praise. I love it because it’s not too complicated but gives big flavor. Sweet caramelized onions, earthy sage, cornbread and butter, that’s basically it. You bake it until the top turns golden brown with crispy edges, then everyone asks for seconds.

Green Bean Casserole – A classic and made with all real food ingredients!

Crispy Parmesan Potatoes – These Crispy Parmesan Potatoes are seriously some of the best roasted potatoes that I’ve had!

Carrot souffle has been served at our dinner table every holiday for as long as I can remember. It’s sweet, smooth, creamy, and incredibly easy to make.

Gluten-Free Cornbread – This is hand’s down the best grain-free and gluten-free cornbread I’ve ever had. It’s an adaptation of my Grandma’s tried-and-true recipe and I know you’re going to love it!

Green Beans with Browned Butter and Pepitas – The Thanksgiving table usually abounds with buttery breads, rich puddings, and sweet sides, so I think it’s important to add a little color with a few fresh and simple vegetable dishes. Green beans with brown butter and pepitas is one of my go-tos!

Stuffed Acorn Squash – this is a great vegetarian side dish or even a main dish if you want to pass on the turkey or ham!

Creamy mashed potatoes are a favorite for the Thanksgiving table and so easy to prepare!

Roasted butternut squash with goat cheese and pecans is a wonderful vegetarian side dish.

Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic Reduction is a restaurant-style side dish that you can easily make at home!

Slow-cooked greens with garlic is easy to put together, can be made ahead of time and goes with just about any Thanksgiving spread. 

Green beans with dates, oranges, and hazelnuts is an easy side dish to whip up for your Thanksgiving dinner.

Grain-Free Stuffing  – This has been a reader favorite for over a decade!

Duchess Potatoes are definitely a special occasion side dish, and one your family will love.

Roasted Carrots with Apricots, Hazelnuts and Creme Fraiche is a fabulous fall side dish!

Easy Gravy Recipe – This gravy recipe contains just six ingredients and provides a nice depth of flavor because of the caramelized onions and homemade chicken stock. You can serve it with turkey, chicken, buttermilk mashed potatoes, or anything else you like to accompany with gravy.

Cranberry Kombucha Jello – Cranberry sauce is fun and all, but what about serving the kids Cranberry Kombucha Jello at Thanksgiving? Kombucha contains healthy probiotics to feed the gut, gelatin from a good source helps keep the bones and joints healthy, and the cranberries add a nice festive touch.

Roasted Carrots with Parsley-Yogurt Sauce – If you’re looking for nutrient-dense Thanksgiving recipes the entire family will love, look no further than these roasted carrots with parsley-yogurt sauce!

Sweet Potato Casserole – Most Thanksgiving tables regularly feature sweet potato casserole. I enjoy the subtle, creamy sweetness combined with the crunchy, sweet-salty pecan topping.

Scalloped Potatoes – I love scalloped potatoes as part of a Thanksgiving spread! You can prepare them the day before and quickly reheat them in the oven to reduce the workload on Thanksgiving Day.

Vegetable Tian – A nutritious side dish loaded with vegetables and lots of flavor!

Desserts

Pumpkin Pie – This grain-free pumpkin pie isn’t too sweet and has a nice custard-like filling.

Pecan pie is the epitome of Thanksgiving for me. After a savory meal, I get a cup of coffee, a slice of grain-free pecan pie and enjoy the conversation.

Pumpkin Roll Cake is a surprisingly easy-to-make classic fall recipe! The key is to make sure the pumpkin cake is just out of the oven when you flip it and roll it into a dishcloth. After the cake completely cools, it will unroll easily so you can spread the cream cheese filling overtop and roll it back up.

Apple Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting is a perfect dessert if you’re looking for something apple!

Salted Butter Apple Galette – A salted butter apple galette is a fun twist on a classic. I’m a huge fan of this dessert recipe because the filling contains just one tablespoon of brown sugar and the rest of the sweetness comes from the apples!

Pumpkin Cheesecake – The crust is blitzed in the food processor, pressed into a pan and baked. The filling is whipped together and all it needs is a good chill in the refrigerator. No additional baking!

Bread Pudding with Chantilly Cream – There are few desserts I love more than this one!

Chocolate Pecan Pie with Bourbon is a fun way to take pecan pie up a notch or two. It’s an impressively delicious dessert that isn’t complicated to make. Fair warning, though – I don’t think you’ll have any leftovers.
