7 Summer Travel Essentials I Found on TikTok Shop

Over the past few years, TikTok has been one of my go-to apps for all things entertainment, tips and tricks, shopping recommendations, and more. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I may spend one too many hours scrolling, but when I first saw the introduction of “TikTok Shop,” I was a bit skeptical. However, as an avid TikTok user, it’s impossible to go on the app without seeing a video of someone promoting a product that they found there. At first, I found the amount of these videos overwhelming, but after seeing all of the interesting recommended products, I became curious. 

As it turns out, the platform offers a large selection of products that have helped me up my travel game. In particular, there are so many good summer finds, like stylish sunglasses and Korean sunscreen. I also found the perfect travel accessories to keep in my everyday tote bag from portable chargers to a compact fan to stay cool in the summer heat. Sunglasses are a must for traveling during the summertime, and when I first came across a video of somebody styling this pair, I knew I needed to purchase them for myself. I love a simple oversized pair of sunnies that go with every outfit to bring along while traveling. For only $15, I love how these aviators complete any look by adding a touch of chicness — and I’m not the only one who thinks this. I get compliments on the shades almost every time I wear them out. I also find that the pair fits very comfortably on my nose and ears, and they’ve been amazing for long periods of wear during the day.

Anker 622 Magnetic Battery

Even if my phone is charged at 100 percent when I leave the house, I still have to have a portable charger with me wherever I go. This portable charger from Anker has saved me from a dead battery several times since I bought it. I happen to love this model because instead of needing to carry a separate cord to connect your phone to the power box, you can simply stick on the back of your phone if it has magnetic charging technology embedded. The magnet is incredibly sturdy, so I never have to worry about the charger falling off. The charger also has a foldable kickstand that is great for propping your phone up for a FaceTime or watching videos. And, it’s on sale at Amazon for $39, making it steal.

The Bogg Bag is a testament to the fact that not all travel bags are created equal. The bag itself is rather large measuring at 19in L x 9in W x 14in H, and because of its size, it has been the perfect “carry all” bag that I can dump anything into. I’ve used it for road trips or visits to the farmers market, but it’s been especially great for my recent trip to the beach. I was able to fit a blanket, beach towel, body and face sunscreen, bug spray, a water bottle, a book, portable speaker, a hat, sunglasses, and snacks all in a single bag. The Bogg Bag’s rubber material makes for an exceptionally easy cleaning process after any sand gets into it, and the interior pockets keep debris and water out. I am notorious for taking several electronics with me on every single trip. Of course, my laptop, phone, smartwatch, and other devices all have to have different cords and charging blocks that always make a mess in my bag. Having all my charging cords in one place has made packing so much easier — I haven’t forgotten to pack a cord since buying it, since I can see everything in one go. It helps me stay organized before, during, and after the trip, and for just $10, you can’t beat it.

A portable fan has become another must have not only for the days that I’m traveling to hot climates, but for my everyday activities during the summer. This small rechargeable fan from TikTok Shop has quickly become an essential item that I keep on me at all times. For the size, it is surprisingly strong. It has five different fan speeds, and it makes a good bit of difference for cooling me down even on some of the hottest days. It’s also quite compact, making it a great item to throw in your bag before leaving the house — in the dead of summer, it’s simply too hot for me to leave home without it.

If there’s one shoe I’d recommend for all your upcoming summer travel, it would be a slip-on platform sandal like these that I found on TikTok. I’m already a fan of this style of sandal, but I’ve been absolutely impressed by this pair from Athlefit. The style is simple, so it can easily be paired with a casual daytime look or a nice sundress for an evening dinner. For months now, I have been hearing about an incredibly sought-after Korean sunscreen from the brand Beauty of Joseon. When I saw it on TikTok Shop, I immediately had to try it. The sunscreen has quickly become one of my favorites to use as it is incredibly lightweight and smooth without leaving a white cast. It’s also proven to work well with my combination skin. I love layering the sunscreen underneath my makeup, but the dewy finish also looks great by itself.
