Some updates from our life lately!
My Big Golfer
Mazen decided not to play baseball this year, and is going all in on golf. He’s quite good for his age/experience, and I hope he will stick with it! He has a group lesson one day a week and on select Sundays he plays 9 holes. One of his parents is his caddy, and last weekend that was me! Other than the fact that my legs were already at 6 miles after a morning soccer game, I loved getting to go with him. I might not have had as many good tips as Thomas, but the cheerleading was 100%!
The Masters
While Mazen and I were on the course, Thomas was home watching the Masters! He had a get-together with some buddies to watch and they got a full swag kit with cups and menus and everything! Margaritas went very well with them : )
We also had Charlie the dog visit. Not sure how Gus felt about sharing his toys!!
Birch tried to share his toys and Charlie did not seem all that interested. Haha.
My Little Blue Apron Helper (sponsored)
I try to involve the kids in the kitchen whenever I can, and Birch is at that sweet spot age. While Mazen has reached “make your own quesadilla” status, Birch loves to help me with Blue Apron recipes. Recently we made this udon noodle recipe together. I usually get him to help the most with prep steps and then he goes off to play when the hot cooking starts.
This time he helped me chop mushrooms using a dull butter knife and then prepare the peanut butter sauce for the noodles.
Wish I could say he enthusiastically ate the recipe too, but we aren’t there yet. Haha!
Blue Apron has a new promo this month and it’s a great time to give it a try: Get 30% off the first 5 weeks of a new subscription.
Another Blue Apron recipe we loved: Salmon Sushi Rice Bowls!
Bean + Gem Work
Birch has also gotten into bead and gem work! This is great for him to focus quietly – a win win!
The Easter Bunny found this stick-on gem project at Target. Amazon has some awesome ones too! Love this llama. And look at this incredible botanical version for adults!
And these perler beads were a classic of my childhood! Of course he needed the Mandalorian set.
I can’t wait until the boys love puzzling more! I have declared the Eeboo puzzles as my favorite brand.
We have also been loving the “roll the dice” colored version of Jenga! Makes it a little harder.
School Things
Check out the projects Birch brought home from school! His first addition worksheet and the continent of Australia.
New Frames
I bought these wooden frames for my mom’s alcohol ink art that she gifted me for the new house! Check out more of her work here. Now we just have to find a great place to hang them!
My mom bought this beautiful birch tree for Birch’s room. It’s by NC artist Kathleen Macfie. If you’re local, she and my mom will both selling their art at the RiverPark Concert this Saturday from noon to dusk in Hillsborough, NC.
The world’s most perfect s’more
At a friends’ house we used the giant marshmallows and fancy graham crackers I’m not sure we can go back to regular!

Kicked Out of Our Bed
We all know it’s the best bed in the house!
Hope you’re having a great week!
