Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m a father of two, lover of quiet, celebrator of simplicity and love sharing how to find calm, peace, acceptance and deep love for each and every part of our experience.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Meditation, getting my kids to school, sitting with people in my private practice, answering a few emails and writing about rest, and then a loooooong lay down, before the start of the day flips around and moves toward the quietness of the evening. Sometimes there’s an opportunity to sit in the woods or walk with a friend. Simple, unambitious and spacious is my preference.
How did your yoga journey begin and what inspired you to become a yoga teacher?
In 2001, I was dragged kicking and screaming to a Yoga Ashram in India. After two weeks, I couldn’t argue with the shift in myself and have been curious ever since.
What inspired you to specialise in your practice?
As part of that 2 weeks, we practiced Yoga Nidra (guided Deep Rest) and I had a profound experience of oneness. I was hooked…
How have you seen yoga benefit your students?
I’ve seen the kind of inner transformation that many of us only dream of. Through the practices and philosophies I share, people find a way to end the war with themselves and fall deeply in love with who they are and how life is. It’s a joy to facilitate that.
What’s your favourite quote?
“Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle” Ian Maclaren
What’s coming up for you in 2024?
2024 finds me developing my Resilience Programme at www.deeprest.com and working with individuals and groups to find a lasting inner contentment and peace.
