90s Prom • Kath Eats

Ever dream of going to prom again? I went to a 90s prom with a group of friends and had a blast!

90s Prom at Fry’s Spring Beach Club

You don’t have to ask me twice for a reason to dress up. I love a theme night more than any other kind of party! We’ve been doing a lot of 90s themed things this year, and the icing on the cake was a 90s prom held at our summer pool venue, Fry’s Spring Beach Club. They are doing more year-round events, and this one was for the grown-ups : )

So last Saturday everyone got out either their oldest or best formalwear (the choice to go pretty or tacky was hard!) and we partied like it was 1999.

Champagne Happy Hour

I hosted the group for a champagne happy hour beforehand. We had cheese boards and bubbly and took tons of photos!!

Cheesy Prom Poses!

My Prom Date

As soon as Birch heard people were coming over wearing “fancy clothes” he dug out his finest formalwear. This child loves a theme too!

Thomas was a good sport about this.

My Dress

My dress is the one I bought for the Beautycounter trip in 2022. I was so glad to wear it again!

Julie’s Rose Gold Dress

I had to shout out Julie’s Amazon dress – how gorgeous are the sparkles!!

The Dudes

Special Performance

My theatrical buddy Sean and I put on a performance to “Hooked on a Feeling” for the group. We had so much fun choreographic the routine.

90s Prom Arrival

Fry’s Spring had hosted a home-school prom the night before, so their decorations were spot on! We took even more pics and then hit the dance floor.

90s Band Brisk

When we bought tickets, we were so excited that Brisk Band, who we’ve seen twice lately, was the band playing at prom! They are amazing.

Fry’s Spring did such a great job organizing.

They had an open bar, 90s snacks (Oreos! Cheese-its!) and a 9pm pizza drop. Plus there were Jello shots being passed around the dance floor.

Because I had a 9am soccer game, I kept my drinking at a minimum, which is always the smartest decision ever. I can’t say the same about everyone else on the dance floor!

After Brisk ended, DJ Flatline Lay took over. We were so impressed by his ability to blend songs and keep the energy up. Highly recommend!

Thanks for following along!
