The MAN v FAT National tournament returns this year, as we head to Lilleshall National Sports Centre on July 13th.
Lilleshall was once the home of England’s national team and has played host to some of the nation’s greatest footballers – and now it’s your turn!
Welsh teams have won the last two tournaments – the victorious lads from Swansea are pictured above in Manchester in 2022 – so who’ll take home the silverware this time?
Allocation of team spots
Based on some feedback from the community, we have taken the decision to revisit the allocation of team spaces for the tournament to give everyone the same chance of getting a ticket. This will be as follows:-
• A revised ballot entry process will reopen at midday on Friday 16th February at https://buytickets.at/manvfat/1135539 with an unlimited amount of ticket spaces which will go into a random ballot.
• Those individuals who have already successfully put in for a team spot in this morning’s release will retain their current reservation and automatically be placed in the draw. They do not need to re-enter.
• Any individual entering into the draw more than once will have all their entries removed.
• The ballot entry process will close at 10.00pm on Sunday 18th February 2024.
• Those who have been successful in the random draw will be notified sometime in the week commencing Monday 19th February 2024.
• Once notified that they have been successful in the draw, individuals will have 72 hours to confirm their spot and make payment. After this time, the space will go to those on a randomly drawn reserve list.
• Spaces cannot be re-allocated to anyone other than the person who has been selected through the random draw.
We feel that this revised approach is the fairest way to move forward and we hope that this addresses some of the earlier feedback we received from the community.
Clearly interest will continue to outweigh the availability of team spaces, so good luck to everyone in next week’s ballot process. Once all team spaces have been filled we will send an e-mail out to the community.
Things to note
– Players must be a registered MAN v FAT player at the time of the team registration and also at the time of the event taking place.
– Players included in a tournament squad must come from the same MAN v FAT Club, but do not necessarily have to be from the same team within that Club.
– Changes to squads can be made up up to one week before the event takes place in the event of injuries or changes to commitments. However, all players must be eligible at the time of registration and of the event.
– This is a 7 a-side tournament with squads of maximum 11 players.
– All of the games will be played on grass so please make sure you bring appropriate footwear.
– The tournament format will be groups of 6 teams, meaning a minimum of 5 fixtures per team (on the assumption the group has 6 teams on the day)
– 15 minute games – straight through with no half time.
– Group stage followed by round of 32, all the way down to the final.
– Exact competition rules will be issued once the team registration process has been completed.
– The current timetable or the day is:-
*Registration from 9:30–10:15am
*Group games begin at 10:30am
*Knock-outs begin at 3:00pm
*Tournament closes at 7:00pm
