The summer season is almost here, which may have you thinking about a nice, cool dip in the pool. And this summer, you can actually get paid for it.
Swimply, a website that allows people to rent private pools, hot tubs, and other spaces (think of it like an Airbnb for pools), is looking for a Chief Pools Officer (CPO) to go around the nation to test out and review pools. And it will pay you handsomely to do it.Â
Specifically, the company is looking for someone to review pools in all 50 states, seeing as many pools as possible between July and September. In exchange, the company will pay this person a compensation package worth $100,000. The package includes a $50,000 base payment to cover their work, travel expenses, floaties, and road trip snacks, along with up to $50,000 in performance bonuses based on content engagement and the number of pools they visit.Â
“Our inaugural Chief Pools Officer will pool their skills to help us discover and share the best aquatic escapes nestled in America’s backyards,” Derek Callow, Swimply’s CEO, shared in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. “This is more than a dream job; it’s a summer-long pool party. If you have a passion for pools and a splash of charisma, we’re looking for you to help spread the Swimply sunshine. Jump in – the water’s great!”
Responsibilities include documenting the entire experience on social media (including creating Instagram Reels, TikToks and YouTube vlogs), curating expert guides and “Best of” lists for its site, hosting a pop-up pool party, being a general Swimply representative on the road, and most important of all — “have fun.”Â
Would-be Chief Pool Offers can apply by booking a Swimply pool near them and creating a video resume highlighting their expertise. Applicants then must post their video on social media (via TikTok or Reels) and tag @swimply using the hashtag #SwimplyDreamJob. The company will then pick top applicants for interviews. Submissions are open until June 15. See more about the role at swimply.com/dreamjob.Â
“We’re calling this the dream job for a reason,” the company added. “Most important is to enjoy the best of what Swimply has to offer and share the fun and adventure with its community.”Â
