The latest to join their 3D-printed lineup, the new Fizik Aliante Adaptive is a curved-top or ‘waved profile’ saddle optimized for endurance cyclists who prefer a planted position on the bike over long distances. It features a wider tail at the back that gradually sloped down to the nose, and longer overall lengths. Fizik calls it a design made for improved stability and more even weight distribution for the longest dropbar rides.

The Aliante has long been a favorite of road riders cranking out the miles, and ultra-distance racers, and even gravel & bikepacking riders who sit and spin in the same position, hour-after-hour. Really, for a saddle where riders don’t move around much, it seems like the perfect one to benefit from the Adaptive tech.

Now with the custom ‘zonal cushioning‘ that only 3D-printing can really deliver, the Fizik Aliante Adaptive can provide increased support stiffness under the sit bones. And at the same time offers softer cushioning in the nose and throughout the rest of the saddle, for more even weight distribution and improved comfort.

What’s new?

This new Aliante Adaptive is said to feature a flatter surface overall for even better spread of pressure when seated.

It uses the same style of carbon fiber-reinforced nylon base as the other Adaptive R1 & R3 saddles, with a narrow pressure relief cutout that you only really see from underneath the saddle.

Other than that, it’s the big shift to the open hexagon-shaped Adaptive 3D-printed padding for the classic curved saddle shape. Created with Digital Light Synthesis stereolithography printing on Carbon Inc machines, the honeycomb structure allows for varied levels of support in each zone of the saddle.
