Florenz Knauer and Team 54×11 Ready for ToAD

The Kwik Trip Tour of America’s Dairyland pro cycling race is on June 13-23 in Wisconson. Ahead of one of the premiere events on the US racing calendar, Florenz Knauer of the 54×11.de cycling team took a few minutes to share some thoughts on what makes this race special.

And in case you didn’t know – there’s an $80,000 prize purse PLUS $78,000 in primes (and still rising) up for grabs at this year’s race – that’s almost $160,000 in cash on the line.

Interview Questions

1. Please introduce yourself and give us a little background on you and your team.

My name is Florenz Knauer I am 35 years young. Out of Bavaria Germany. I’ve been racing since I was 10 years old. My team 54×11 is founded in 2021, and we are all working full time and do cycling as a hobby.  Travelling to America to race at the Tour of America’s Dairyland is our highlight of the year.

2. What’s your history with this race and what do you think makes this race unique from other races?

The first time I did TOAD was in 2017. Than I came back 2022 and 2023. What makes the race unique to other races definitely the chocolate milk after each race.

3. Any special memories or stories from racing here in the past?

Each year has been special. We always have great host housing, meet inspiring people, and learn about the culture in the Milwaukee area. The organization of the race is very friendly and welcoming they are doing a great job. We also like the atmosphere at the races and all the cycling fans cheering along the courses.

4. Goals for this weekend – what do you and the team hope to achieve?

Our goals for this week is to keep the rubberside down, fight for the win as often as possible. And to put on a good show for all the great people out there cheering for us.

5. What would you say to riders and fans who haven’t seen this race before?

We are coming all the way from Germany to participate in the race. I think that says it all. It’s definitely worth coming out here.
