Why You Will Love this Cracking Latte
This drink is so fun to make! I never hopped on the Whipped Coffee trend but its fun to crack the sides of glass when you make it.
You will need clear plastic cups for this, which you can find at either Wal-Mart or Target. Or heck, just use your leftover Starbucks cup if you have those.
The chocolate needs to be tempered or melted first before sticking it in freezer. Otherwise you won’t get that cracking noise. You can do this in the microwave or temper chococolate on a stove top using the double boiler method.
You can also use Magic shell which is an ice cream topping that hardens when you add something cold to it.
Ingredients Needed for Crackling Latte
- ¼ cup of milk chocolate chips – can use white or dark chocolate chips, pretty much anything that melts well
- 2 shots of Espresso (I used the Starbucks Blond Roast espresso pods)
- 1 cup of oatmilk or milk of choice
- 2 tablespoons of Simple syrup (I used Halzenut syrup but you can use whatever you like)
- Ice
How to Make a Cracking Latte
To make it crack, push the cup in with your hands or just enjoy the chocolate as it melts.
What can I serve with a Cracking Latte?
These pairings not only complement the flavors of an iced latte but also enhance the overall experience, making your coffee break or meal more enjoyable and satisfying.
- Pastries and Baked Goods: One of the most traditional and popular pairings is pastries. Croissants, muffins, scones, and Danish pastries are all excellent choices. Their buttery, flaky textures complement the smooth, creamy nature of an iced latte. For those with a sweet tooth, chocolate chip cookies or biscotti can also be a great match, adding a touch of sweetness that balances the coffee’s rich flavor.
- Fruit and Yogurt: A yogurt parfait layered with granola, honey, and fruit is both nutritious and satisfying, offering a blend of textures and flavors that can enhance your coffee experience.
- Savory Options: If you prefer something savory, an iced latte pairs well with this Blackstone Breakfast Sandwich, bagels with cream cheese, or Air Fryer Avocado Toast.
- Cheese Platters: The combination of savory flavors and creamy coffee can create a balanced and fulfilling meal. Additionally, cheese platters with a selection of cheeses, nuts, and crackers can provide a sophisticated touch to your iced latte spread, perfect for a more upscale brunch or snack.
