The Supreme Court justices announced decisions in five cases Friday morning, including a high-profile gun rights case involving domestic abusers. They will return to the bench next week to release more 2024 decisions, with 10 major rulings — and a few less high-profile ones — still to come. The most anticipated decisions that have not yet been released involve former president Donald Trump’s claim that he is immune from prosecution and whether Jan. 6, 2021, rioters were properly charged, as well as cases on emergency abortion care, the opioid crisis, homelessness and free speech on social media platforms. Several other high-profile cases, including on bump stocks and the abortion medication mifepristone, have been decided in recent weeks.
