23XI Racing’s star driver, Bubba Wallace, had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the White House this week. This trip was made possible with the help of his sponsor, Leidos, who had planned an event to promote the ‘Space4All’ initiative. The initiative aims to inspire people to take a keen interest in science, technology, and space.
Wallace posted a photo via his X account posing as a leader in the press room of the White House, tagging NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass, “First question goes to @bobpockrass…” Well, this wasn’t the only highlight of his visit, as he got the opportunity to meet San Francisco 49ers QB, Joshua Dobbs, and singer John Legend. But one particular experience stood out for Wallace, which he is going to miss for the rest of his life.

Being in the same room with Joshua Dobbs and John Legend can truly be a surreal experience. In Wallace’s case, he was trying to play it cool while his PR team was going bonkers. But he was overwhelmed by the words of appreciation from John Legend.
Ahead of Sunday’s race at Loudon, Bob Pockrass asked the driver if he knew he was going to meet John Legend. To which he replied, “No, you should’ve seen my PR people; they were freaking out. ‘Oh my god, come out here’. I was like chill out, bro. He was cool; he was really nice. I walked up to him and his kid and said, I’m the best race car driver in the world. So appreciate that; that was nice. John Legend said that.”
However, the symphony of flavors from the French toast Wallace ate at the White House was the best part of his short trip. “Was a part of the west wing, got to eat at the mess, best french toast I’ve had so that sucks for all the places that I go to to get french toast now. It can’t beat the White House, but it was a cool experience; like I said it was a quick trip, Wednesday night for Leidos dinner, left Thursday afternoon, so quick 24 hours but was a lot of fun.”

Although the driver made some fond memories from his visit to the White House, he will have to divert his focus back to racing. As things stand, his qualification for the playoffs could go down to the wire like it did last year.
Things are just not clicking for Wallace and the No. 23 team
Despite the early promising signs of consistent runs at the start of the 2024 Cup Series season, Bubba Wallace once again finds himself in a familiar situation. Without a top-10 finish in his last four starts, the driver now finds himself hovering above the cutoff line and placed 14th in the points standings. Moreover, without a win, he is still banking on points to make the knockout stages. This surely isn’t the best plan to roll with, considering how many good drivers are still in the hunt for their respective winning results.

Acknowledging the recent comings, Wallace in an interview via Front Stretch said, “We haven’t done much anything last month and a half. It’s not from the lack of effort, so I don’t want my team to see this and think that we are s**t we’re not. Just, things haven’t been clicking, we have tried different things. It’s not been a good stretch for us; we all know that, and it makes us hungry.”
It is going to be an uphill climb for Wallace and #23 from here on to make it into the playoffs. They certainly will have to string up a run of consistent top-10 results or get that vital win to secure their qualification for the next round.
