Clear Just Added More TSA PreCheck Enrollment Locations — What to Know

Biometric company Clear is once again expanding its TSA PreCheck enrollment locations, making it even easier to sign up for the beloved airport security program.

Following an expansion earlier this month, the authorized TSA PreCheck enrollment provider will add seven more locations in airports across the contiguous United States and in Puerto Rico, according to Clear.

“TSA PreCheck with enrollment by CLEAR provides a fast and efficient airport experience,” Clear CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker said in a statement. “This is a win-win for U.S. travelers who will have access to more enrollment locations, expanded hours and other benefits.”

Travelers will now be able to enroll in the Trusted Traveler program with Clear at the following airports:

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)
  • Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW)
  • Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD)
  • San José Mineta International Airport (SJC)
  • Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)

In total, Clear now operates TSA PreCheck enrollment locations in 27 airports across the country.

Clear is one of several private companies authorized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to enroll or renew TSA PreCheck memberships in person. The cost to renew a TSA PreCheck membership with Clear costs $77.95 in person and costs $68.95 to renew online.

Once travelers are enrolled in the program, they can leave their shoes, belts, and light jackets on and leave their laptops and liquids in their bags when they go through airport security. Children 12 and younger are also allowed to accompany their parents or guardians who are enrolled in the program into the PreCheck lane, and last year, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) started allowing teenagers 13 to 17 to do the same if they are traveling on the same reservation and have the TSA PreCheck mark on their boarding pass.

In addition to enrolling travelers in TSA PreCheck, Clear offers its own membership program allowing travelers to use a separate security line at airport checkpoints by identifying themselves through biometric scans (fingerprint or eye scans). A Clear Plus membership for airports costs $189 a year, but several credit cards may either reimburse or discount the fee. The company also offers a discount when travelers pay for both Clear Plus and TSA PreCheck at the same time, selling both for a total of $190.95.
