Easy Chunky Salsa – Sharon Palmer, The Plant Powered Dietitian

Did you know you can mix up the best ever homemade salsa recipe in 10 minutes with only 7 ingredients? Yes, this Easy Chunky Salsa is based on seasonal produce that you can easily find in your garden, farmers market, and supermarket. Just chop the ingredients, mix together and serve with your favorite foods, such as tacos, chips, and whole grain crackers. Or use it as an ingredient in nachos or tamale pie. This classic recipe, which is vegan and gluten-free, is adjustable, too. Switch to heirloom tomatoes to give it a different color. Use more or less jalapeno peppers to give it a different spice level. And try lime juice instead of lemon juice for a different flavor twist. The most important thing: Just try it! You’ll want to whip up homemade salsa again and again, it’s just that easy and great.

Here are a few questions people ask about making homemade salsa.

How long does homemade salsa last?

If you store it in an airtight container and refrigerate it, you can get about 5 days out of this recipe. But use it up quickly, as it’s always better when it’s enjoyed the first day.

Can you freeze homemade salsa?

You can freeze it in an airtight container, but the quality will go down a bit. The fresh tomatoes and vegetables will release more of their water, so the texture won’t be as great.

These are the ingredients in this recipe for Easy Chunky Salsa.
