Humble Caitlin Clark Silenced the Crowd After Making WNBA’s Triple-Double Record for a Very Heartwarming Reason

With every game, we see a new Clark! During Saturday’s matchup against the New York Liberty, Fever rookie Caitlin Clark recorded her first triple-double, becoming the first rookie to accomplish this feat in WNBA history. Ecstatic with her victory, the crowd started hooting and cheering for her. But this wasn’t something Clark expected!

To share Clark’s post-match conversation with the media, Matthew Byrne penned, “Caitlin Clark on her mindset when she got the triple-double, and if the crowd tipped her off:” on his X account. It was in the fourth quarter at the 7:07 mark when Clark pulled down her 10th rebound. “Like I appreciate it, but just trying to get them to be quiet,” she said after the matchup.

At the time she recorded the triple-double, the match was still on. “I think Aliyah was shooting a free throw,” Clark revealed. Since she wanted Aliyah to focus on her attempt, she tried to get the crowd to be silent. Notably, Clark was aiming for redemption for her team in today’s game. In the last three matchups against the Liberty, the Fever struggled with three losses.
