5 Best Kitchen Sink Organizers • Kath Eats

I’m sharing the best kitchen sink organizers and tips for organizing around your kitchen sink!

I could not wait to organize our newly renovated kitchen, including the kitchen sink area starting with our new wide single basin sink!

I know that may not sound all that exciting, but the kitchen sink area is one of the most highly trafficked area in the entire house.

It’s the central hub for food prep, cleaning, and often the impromptu spot for a quick rinse or hand wash. Given its frequent use, it’s no surprise that it can quickly become a chaotic zone with an endless stack of dirty dishes and essential kitchen tools. You gotta know the flow!

To no one’s surprise, I have our kitchen sink area decluttered and dialed in, organizationally speaking.

To help you keep your kitchen sink area in order and clutter-free, I’ve rounded up some fantastic organizers that can make a big difference. These organizers will streamline your cleaning routine!

How To Organize Your Kitchen Sink

1. Give Every Item a Home
  • Assign specific spots for frequently used items like sponges, dish soap, and scrubbing brushes – trash bags, too!
  • Use sink caddies or suction cups to keep items within reach but off the countertops.
2. Sort Items in Containers
  • Use small containers or Lazy Susan trays to group similar items together, such as dishwashing and cleaning supplies.
  • Opt for clear containers to easily see the contents or label opaque ones for quick identification.

I use a big clear container to hold the Dropps dishwashing pods for an easily accessible storage solution. Use code KATH25.

3. Keep Cloths and Towels Close
  • Install a towel bar or hooks near the sink to hang rags and towels. We keep ours hanging on the cabinet door.
  • Use a designated spot for drying cloths and hand towels to keep them within easy reach.

I am obsessed with Geometry towels – there are my top pick!! Use code KATHEATS15.

4. Utilize Under-Sink Storage
  • Install shelves or pull-out drawers under the sink to maximize vertical space.
  • Store less frequently used items or bulk supplies in bins or baskets under the sink.
  • Put extras like bulk paper towels and extra trash bags in another lower real estate spot – like above the fridge.

5. Use Sink Mats and Protectors
  • Place a sink mat at the bottom of your sink to protect it from scratches and prevent dishes from slipping.
  • Use silicone sink protectors to provide a cushioned surface for delicate items.

The Best Kitchen Sink Organizers

1. Sink Caddies

They are multipurpose and can often serve as a sponge holder, too. This adorable one from Target takes up minimal counter space. Just make sure it has drainage holes!

2. Drip Trays

Drip trays, often made from silicone or dichotomous earth, are a great place to keep soap dispenses, sponges, and the like to keep your counters dry. They are easy to clean!

3. Drying Mat or Rack

Some dish drying racks can be quite bulky and take up a lot of room. We love our simple stone drying mat to air dry dishes; it blends right in with our countertops.

4. Under The Sink Organizer

Whether that’s a Lazy Susan or a two-tiered rack (great for extra storage!), there are endless options for keeping this notoriously cluttered cupboard well organized.

5. Trash Bag Dispenser

My simple set-up works just fine, but this trash bag dispenser is clever!
