Virginia Theater Festival + KERF Vacay • Kath Eats

Here are the Virginia Theater Festival shows I went to, life lately, and an update on the KERF vacay next week!

Summer Soccer Concludes

KERF Vacay

Head’s up next week KERF will be out of office for the week. Last year I took off the whole month of August from posting, but this time I’m just skipping a week while we head to Bald Head Island! See you when we get back with beach recaps and back to school week all in one!

Virginia Theater Festival

During July I went to all three of the Virginia Theater Festival shows! My friends Fabi, Mandy, and Sean are all theater go-ers and I am so happy to be getting back to going to more theater. My parents took me to tons of shows growing up, and I feel like I’ve been missing from the arts for a while.

First up was 50 Years And Counting: A Musical Revue. I took Birch to this show which was a bit ambitious since most of the acts were solo songs from those who had been at part of the VTF over the years. He did well with lots of lollipops though!

Next up was Little Shop Of Horrors which was SO GOOD!!!!!! I had never seen it (or the movie) and it was such a great production. If it hadn’t been the last show of this series I would have gone back with the kids!

And finally we saw The 39 Steps which was a comedy play and my favorite! There were only four actors who carried the story through dozens of scenes, accents, and characters. It was so, so well done!!!

Bonus: Percy Jackson at Live Arts

I also took the boys to see Percy Jackson: The Musical as the Live Arts Teen Musical. Mazen is a fan of the books, and we all enjoyed the show!

These Salad Power pouches have been great to have going from a soccer game to the show in a flash!

Celebrating Birthdays!

This month I also celebrated several birthdays!

I took Lauren to Botanical for hers.

And I took Julie to Jump for hers! (Plus ice cream)

Tis the season for cones!

It’s also the season for corn of the cob and tomatoes!
