Boursin Pasta | Diethood

Boursin pasta is about to become your latest weeknight dinner obsession (speaking from experience). If you haven’t tried it yet, you’ll love how ridiculously easy this TikTok-inspired pasta is to make and how rich and creamy it turns out. It bakes in 30 minutes!

You can’t go wrong with a TikTok-famous pasta recipe. Try the original baked feta pasta and this easy spaghetti casserole, next!

Move over, feta pasta! There’s a new viral recipe in town: Boursin pasta, and it’s SO GOOD. This recipe is similar to the original TikTok pasta with baked feta and tomatoes that made the rounds a few years back, only this version trades a brick of feta for Boursin cheese. The pasta comes out ridiculously rich and creamy, with juicy tomatoes, garlic, and melty cheese. It’s the most amazing dinner, made with fewer ingredients than I can count on two hands!

Why This Boursin Pasta Recipe Works

  • It’s SO easy. Like the original baked pasta, this Boursin pasta couldn’t be easier to assemble. Just add your ingredients (all 6 of them) and a handful of seasonings to a baking dish, and bake. Sauce: sorted. Then, you toss in the cooked pasta while the gooey cheese and blistered tomatoes are hot from the oven.
  • Quick. The cooking method and minimal prep make this cheesy baked pasta the ultimate lazy dinner that’s still super satisfying. The tomatoes and cheese bake in one pan in about 30 minutes!
  • Flavor-packed. This creamy Boursin pasta is packed full of flavor thanks to the soft, velvety melted cheese, sweet and juicy tomatoes, and plenty of garlic and herbs. It’s perfect for weeknights, but I’ll definitely be making it when we have company around, too.

What Is Boursin Cheese?

You have not LIVED until you’ve tried it! Boursin is a popular brand name for a kind of soft, spreadable French cheese. It’s similar to cream cheese, made from cow’s milk. You’ll find Boursin made with different add-ins and seasonings, from garlic and herbs to shallots, chives, and black pepper. It’s extra creamy and delicious served straight-up with crostini or crackers. And it’s especially amazing in pasta recipes like this one!

Recipe Ingredients

I promised a simple ingredients list, didn’t I? Here are some quick notes on what you’ll need to make this baked Boursin cheese pasta. Scroll down to the recipe card for a printable list with the full recipe details.

  • Boursin Cheese – You’ll need two packages of Boursin soft cheese in any flavor you like. My favorite for this recipe is their Garlic and Fine Herbs. It pairs perfectly with the tomatoes and seasonings!
  • Tomatoes – Cherry or grape tomatoes are best (plus, they’re available year-round!). Larger tomatoes tend to hold a lot of water and don’t have as much flavor.
  • Garlic – Whole cloves. I roast these right in the pan with the other ingredients. If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use jarred garlic instead.
  • Olive Oil – Or another cooking oil, like avocado oil.
  • Seasoning – Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Feel free to omit the chili flakes or replace them with something milder, like paprika.
  • Dry Pasta – I use rigatoni, but any short-cut pasta will work here. Other good options are penne, fusilli, shells, or bowtie pasta.
  • Basil – Freshly chopped.

How to Make the TikTok Boursin Pasta

You gotta love TikTok. It’s blessed us with speedy recipes like Green Goddess salad and Dalgona coffee, and this garlicky, creamy Boursin cheese and tomato pasta that takes minutes to prep. Here’s how to make it:

  • Load up the baking dish. It’s as easy as nestling both rounds of Boursin in the middle of a greased casserole dish, and adding the tomatoes and garlic around the cheese. Give everything a drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle over the seasonings.
  • Bake. Place the whole thing into a 400ºF oven to bake for 25-30 minutes. Meanwhile, boil the pasta according to the directions on the package. Be sure to save some of the pasta water!
  • Put it all together. Once your baked Boursin and tomatoes are out of the oven, add the cooked pasta and toss it all together with some fresh basil. Sprinkle in pasta water as needed to help emulsify the sauce. Buon appétito!

Tips and Easy Variations

  • Salt the pasta water. Don’t be shy when it comes to salting the water you use to boil the pasta. It’s the key to well-seasoned pasta!
  • Reserve some of the pasta water. Don’t forget to scoop out about 1 cup of pasta water before you drain the noodles. The starchy water comes in handy when making the creamiest Boursin pasta.
  • Stretch the sauce. If you’d like to bulk up this recipe with more pasta, I recommend adding extra tomatoes, 1-2 extra garlic cloves, and additional olive oil to the baking dish. You also might want to add more of the pasta water when mixing the sauce.
  • Try another flavor. I love Garlic and Herb, but I can’t wait to make this pasta bake with more Boursin flavors. I think it’d be fun to mix and match them, too. One of each in the pan!
  • More add-ins. Sprinkle in some quick-cooking add-ins like pitted olives, mushrooms, sliced bell peppers, spinach, or capers.
  • Make it gluten-free. Substitute your favorite gluten-free pasta in place of regular.

Serving Suggestions

I love my Boursin pasta garnished with fresh basil leaves, and it’s just as tasty sprinkled with freshly grated parmesan cheese and extra red pepper flakes. All you need is a fresh side salad, like this Mediterranean salad, or homemade breadsticks.

For a fuller meal, it’s easy to add protein to this pasta, like baked chicken or shrimp scampi. If you’re keeping it vegetarian, serve this pasta with a portion of roasted vegetables or steamed broccoli. Lead into dinner with a starter of stuffed mini peppers and end with a slice of olive oil cake for dessert!

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

  • Refrigerate. Store leftover pasta in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat. Reheat Boursin pasta in the microwave in increments, stirring in between. Alternatively, warm the leftovers in a saucepan. I like to sprinkle over a little water when reheating, to help loosen up the cheese sauce.
  • Freeze. You can freeze Boursin pasta for up to 2 months and thaw it in the fridge before reheating.

  • Prep. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a 9X13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

  • Load up the baking dish. Place both packs of Boursin Cheese near the center of the baking dish (with some space between them) and scatter the tomatoes and garlic all around them. Drizzle everything with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.

  • Bake. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the tomatoes have blistered and the cheese is just starting to turn golden brown. Remove the baking dish from the oven.

  • Make the pasta. While the cheese and tomatoes are baking, bring a large pot of water to a boil and add one teaspoon of salt along with the pasta. Boil the pasta until al dente, according to the package’s instructions. Drain and reserve one cup of pasta water.

  • Put it all together. Add the cooked pasta and basil to the baking dish and toss to coat the pasta in the cheesy, tomatoey sauce. Serve.
