From summer camps and lazy breakfasts to early morning wake ups, back-to-school is here!
First day of kindergarten and 6th grade!
I think that was the fastest summer in history
Probably because it was! Our kids had a week shorter summer than usual because they’ll get out at Memorial Day in 2025. But also since Birch is starting elementary school, he goes back with the public school kids this year! In previous years, his preschool started after Labor Day.
Also new this year is a much earlier start time
Birch’s preschool started at 9, which meant we had a pretty easy morning routine. This year it’s 7:45am. AHHH! I gotta get back on my 9pm – 6am body clock (so does he).
Goodbye Summer Camp
Birch’s last week of camp was also his last week at his sweet preschool. He started there as a tiny 2-year-old in fall of the pandemic wearing a mask. Four years later, he’s off to big hallways and a cafeteria.
It’s probably time to say farewell to the stroller, too!
B2S haircut!
Birch got really into bead work this summer at camp:
Lazy Breakfasts
We enjoyed a few days of lazy summer mornings before the alarm clocks were set. We tried the viral scrambled pancake recipe – we are huge fans!

Routine
After so much travel this summer, I’m excited to get back into a healthy routine. Gym buddies always make that more fun.
