I’m joining Sherry at Sherry’s Pickings for her “IN MY KITCHEN” September, 2024 blogger share!
It’s hard to believe that the summer is almost over and we are already welcoming in the month of September.
Not a lot going on in my kitchen right now but I’ll share what I’ve got!
The wood frame and bottom of our old French doors rotted, so we had them replaced with similar but new doors.
Bread Basket
I picked up this cute long basket at a garage sale for $3. I’ll probably use it as a bread basket.
Prepping for the Week
The weather has been very hot, so I’m back into making salad in a jar and prepping cut things such as cut up melon and things like baby potatoes to have on hand for a quick meal.
A melon from a local farm |
We have a farm at the beginning of my development. I go there about twice a week to pick up melons.
I’m too lazy to make a salad or cut up melon when I am hungry and will consequently gravitate to unhealthier foods. By prepping in advance, I have a salad ready to eat for lunch everyday and I use up all of the healthy greens I get from the farmers market each week.
Pomegranate Molasses
This is my one new purchase. I have no idea what I will do with it, but I have seen it in some recipes that I’ve looked at.
I’ve got lots of zucchini (from the farmer’s market)
I spiralized the zucchini.
I made zucchini, garlic, and tofu in a skillet!
My son created a garden in his backyard. He missed the summer crops, but just planted fall crops. A local farm was selling starter plants.
