Two of Mexico’s Biggest Cities Are Getting More Flights From the U.S. — What to Know

Aeromexico is giving travelers in Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, and Orlando more nonstop flight options to Mexico this winter.

The SkyTeam Alliance member will connect Guadalajara with Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, and Orlando nonstop up to seven days a week from Dec. 19. Those Denver flights will continue through April 20; Miami and Orlando through March 30; and Las Vegas through Jan. 12.

And from Monterrey, Aeromexico will offer up to daily flights to Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, New York JFK, and Orlando from Dec. 19. Denver service will operate through April 20; Miami and Orlando through March 30; and Las Vegas and New York through Jan. 20.

Monterrey is Mexico’s second largest metropolitan area after Mexico City, and the capital of the northeastern state of Nuevo León. Guadalajara is the country’s third largest metro area, and the capital of the western state of Jalisco.

Aeromexico serves all five U.S. cities from its Mexico City hub, and said the new routes will “reinforce” its U.S. presence.

As a close partner of Delta Air Lines, fliers on Aeromexico’s new flights can earn either Delta SkyMiles or Aeromexico Rewards points.

Aeromexico faces competition on almost all of its new routes from American Airlines, as well as Mexican budget airlines Viva Aerobus and Volaris, according to Cirium Diio schedules. The only route with no competition is Monterey-New York.

Guadalajara is one of Mexico’s best food destinations and in 2023 it was one of T+L readers’ favorite cities in the popular country. The iconic tequila brand Jose Cuervo runs an all-you-can-drink tequila train from the city to nearby Tequila.
