This Semi-private Carrier Is Adding a New Way to Get to Las Vegas

Semi-private air carrier JSX is launching a new route to Las Vegas, making it easier to connect to Sin City for the fall.

Starting Oct. 1, the carrier will fly between Taos, New Mexico and Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), JSX confirmed to Travel + Leisure. The new route will be seasonal and available through Dec. 8.

This marks the third flight to Taos after JSX relaunched service to the popular town over the summer from both Dallas and the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) in the Denver area. Both routes were scheduled to stop at the end of the month, but have each been extended through the 2024/2025 winter season.

“JSX, at its core, is about increasing access to air travel and our return to Taos does just that,” JSX CEO Alex Wilcox told T+L. “It’s our true pleasure to bring customers to places where large network airlines can’t go, like Taos, where the best of arts and culture become more attainable than ever before.”

The carrier will plan to operate the new Las Vegas flights two days per week on Fridays and Sundays for an easy weekend getaway. To start, travelers can book for as low as $209 each way for roundtrip fares. In addition to Taos, JSX flies to Las Vegas from several other popular West Coast cities, including Los Angeles, Oakland, Scottsdale, and the Denver area.

Beyond these routes, JSX — voted the best U.S. Airline by T+L readers — operates semi-private flights to states across the United States, including New York and Florida on the East Coast. The airline operates a fleet of 48 Embraer ERJ family aircraft with 30 seats each.

Once on board, passengers are treated to free Wi-Fi from SpaceX’s Starlink, two checked bags (including oversize items like skis or golf bags), free cocktails, and more. And as an added bonus, travelers who fly semi-private are able to arrive at the terminal just 20 to 45 minutes before their flight.
