The Only 3 Travel Shoes You Need Are at Amazon

As a professional travel writer, I could travel every day of the year and never tire of it. I adore the thrill and wonder of seeing new places, learning about other cultures, and trying new things. To be happy during my travels, I’ve learned to pack well and come prepared to stay comfortable. That’s why I carry three pairs of shoes (from Skechers, Bearpaw, and LifeStride) on every trip I take; I rotate them throughout my travels depending on what mood I’m in and what I’m doing that day.

You’re sure to notice these three pairs of shoes are all quite different, but they have some useful things in common. For starters, they’re easy to pack and slip on and off. I value my time most of all, and I like to travel with shoes that I can get on in a flash. All three pairs of shoes are also incredibly comfortable and provide a lot of support. I need shoes that will be good for my feet and feel terrific while I’m wearing them. Also, I need to wear shoes that keep me moving and energized while I explore the world. Try them out yourself and see why these three pairs will be the only ones you need for any future trips.

Skechers Cleo 2.0 Glitzy Daze Flats

With just the right combination of comfort and pizazz that make me really take to a shoe, my pair of Skechers Cleo flats are my go-to shoes for a nice dinner or a business meeting during my travels. They are easy to pack and perfectly match any dress or pantsuit I might need to wear.

I’m thankful I choose these shoes every time I pack. They take up almost no room in my suitcase and can be easily stacked together in a corner of a packing cube. I also love that all the glitzy embellishments have stayed intact on the shoes through all my travels. I take good care of them, but they also have endured many trips in my checked luggage.

This shoe is so comfortable and fits like a glove — or, more fittingly, like I’m just wearing a pair of snug socks. Also, unlike many flats, the Skechers Cleo ballet flats offer excellent support thanks to the memory-foam insole.

I wear a lot of Skechers sneakers, too, because the brand makes a lot of vegan shoes that offer great support . Happily, these flats are as comfortable as sneakers, so I feel confident wearing them for long walks in whatever city I’m in.

These shoes are available in black, navy, and taupe. I own the black pair, which I love for its versatility — it looks great with almost anything.

Bearpaw Alyssa Vegan Ankle Boots

These boots were made for walking in all kinds of weather — they were even comfortable to wear after a long day of sightseeing on a rainy day in Alaska. Bearpaw’s Alyssa ankle boot is the ideal shoe for cooler months of the year. They’re so cozy that I’ve been tempted to wear them as bedroom slippers, too.

As a plus-size traveler who loves to walk, I want to be as kind to my feet as possible, so wearing shoes with support is important to me. These Bearpaw ankle boots have a comfortable footbed I love. These boots are made with a supersoft faux-fur lining that helps keep my feet warm and relaxed. I wear them with tights or thin socks and still stay cozy.

Also, it’s always a good idea to be prepared for all kinds of weather when you travel as often as I do, and I love how rain-repellent these boots are. (The BearCoat rain-resistant claims are true; I’ve worn them on many rainy days, and they’re still in great shape.) They’re also stain-resistant, which I have tested myself on more than one occasion.

Bzees for LifeStride Wednesday Slip-ons

The Wednesday slip-on loafers from Bzees for LifeStride are the newest addition to my travel shoe rotation, and I find myself reaching for them every day. They’re more comfortable than my favorite pair of slippers, and they slip right on with one motion so I can get out the door quickly to get to my next destination. They’re also lightweight, and I love wearing them on flights. The shoe’s fabric has a nice, built-in stretch, so even if my feet swell during a very long flight, they still fit comfortably.

In addition to being made with comfort and support in mind, they are created with an algae-infused foam layer under the insole, adding extra comfort to the shoes’ cushy arch support.

The pair I wear are a sangria color, and it just cheers me up to put on red shoes — it’s always been a color that energizes me. I’m also eyeing these slip-ons in black because they would be a nice balance to the bold colors I often wear.

Another thing I love about these shoes is that they are fun to wear for casual adventures, but also have enough support that I feel comfortable wearing them to the gym. I’ve started a new fitness plan, and I slip these shoes on when I hit the hotel gym in the morning in addition to traversing a new city.
