Delta Announces New Service to Seoul, South Korea From This U.S. Hub

Delta Air Lines will soon begin new service connecting Salt Lake City and Seoul, South Korea. This is the first time the two cities have been connected with nonstop service, and the inaugural flight will take off on June 12, 2025. This airline recently announced this would be its fifth flight route from a United States hub city to Seoul.

“The launch of Salt Lake City to Seoul service offers customers convenient access to Delta’s growing global network and ensures that virtually all U.S. demand is connected to Seoul via nonstop or one-stop service,” Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning shared in the release.

As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, Delta will be able to offer passengers more flights throughout Asia from Seoul through codeshare flights with their partner, Korean Air. Tickets for the new route will go on sale starting September 28.

Salt Lake City remains a popular tourist destination, with over 26.9 million passengers flying through the Salt Lake City International Airport in 2023, which was 4.6 percent increase from the previous year, according to airport data. Salt Lake City is also within a several hour drive to over 60 national parks, including Bryce Canyon National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Zion National Park, making it a popular hub for outdoor and hiking enthusiasts. The city is also scheduled to host the 2034 Winter Olympics.

Seoul was named one of Travel + Leisure‘s best places to visit in 2023, with a buzzing art scene and a plethora of exciting new hotels.

The route was celebrated by Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox, the President of the Incheon International Airport Corporation, Lee Hag-jae, and other civic leaders.

“Strong partnerships can often have the biggest impacts on visitors and our residents,” Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall said in the release. “From Delta’s Salt Lake City hub, the Incheon route will connect our capital city with 80-plus destinations in Asia, expanding our community’s global reach and what so many already know.”

Delta will operate the new route on an Airbus A350-900, which features the private Delta One Suites as well as other amenities. Delta recently refreshed its Delta Sky Club in Salt Lake City’s airport, which spans over 28,000 square-feet.
