HomeRunningI needed that one. Always choose this experience.

I needed that one. Always choose this experience.

I am SO thankful I took more time off because I felt like I dug myself out of the hole on Saturday that I had been living in. I kept up with the intensity on the plan but took out more mileage than planned the last two weeks.

I have shown up to starting lines feeling tired and the marathon was not a pretty experience… and I’ve shown up to races being undercooked and had the best race I could have. Always choose the tiny bit undercooked marathon experience, I promise!

Here’s to doing the same thing with my running this week and really listening to exactly what I need… and eating 450 grams of carbs a day for 3 days in a row;)

Our entire run (once the sun came up) looked like a painting. I kept thinking I needed to set up an easel for my dad and come sit with him as he painted the scenes I was experiencing.

12 miles total with 3 miles in the middle @ 6:03 average. I felt strong and hungry for more which is right where I want to be a week out. Now to just really baby my hamstring (it felt mostly great)!

Training last week:

Monday: Off

Tuesday: 5 miles @ 8:26 pace

Wednesday: 10 @ 7:27 with 8 x .5 miles a bit faster than marathon pace with 90 second recoveries between first 4 and 60 second recoveries during last 4.

Thursday: 8 @ 8:15 average

Friday: Off

Saturday: 12 @ 7:15 average with 3 in the middle @ 6:03 pace

Sunday: Off

I’ll be doing french braids on race morning but luckily my niece will be with me that is a genius with hair and she can do them in the car.

Doing what we do best:

I have a hard time not trying out a new candy that I see at the story. Gummi candy corn is not a good idea. I know I’m probably the only one that would have grabbed these but in case you are thinking about it, just walk away. Far away.

I was very happy that Tossed Bowls was near where Knox’s soccer game was… I wish I could teleport this to you now. I would be broke if this place was closer to me.

And then we went over to the BYU Women’s Volleyball game.

In the evening, Andrew suggested we go for a bike ride. I’m serious about this goal, I’m going to sign up for a century ride.

For our Sunday evening, we had the family all over for dinner and dessert to celebrate Knox! Beck even showed off his robot skills for the crew.

From my niece’s Be Real… I live for my nieces and nephews’ stories and drama;)

Gotta love the days where we are outside all day long.

Happy last day of the month! Make it a good one!
