A major positive of this injury + Something exciting from my mom (would love some cheers for her:)…

(the warmest running tights you will ever own… the fleece is so good! They are + 30% off and get me through Utah winter running ((plus, they come in petite, normal and tall)), favorite bra ((also on sale)) long sleeve)

Also, I just purchased these mittens from the 30% off sale for this winter. They come in black and feather!

A morning walk and then we went to Knox’s last game of the season.

They are getting in enough running for all of us.

His preferred mode of transportation.

Saturday night we didn’t have a babysitter, the kids all had friends over, so we did date night at home. We decided to make some homemade noodles with Alfredo. It was delicious.

I couldn’t get the fettucine noodles to work but the spaghetti noodles worked great with the recipe that we used!

We’ve made a goal to read through all of the Harry Potter books together. We want to celebrate by going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter when we do… I guess I should run this by Andrew;)

I went up to the airport and got to pick up the Brookie. Nothing feels better.

And then we went to my sister’s house for dinner!

I love seeing them back together again.

I’m really excited to share this from my mom. She has found something she loves, and I can’t wait to try it out with her:

I found an exercise that I love!  My husband and I joined a rec center so we could exercise together.  He started walking around their indoor track and using some weights and I was riding a recumbent bike.  Because I have had knee surgeries I have trouble getting my heart rate up without hurting my knees.  Plus it is sooo boring with very little reward because I have to go so slow.  One day I decided to try the lazy river (it’s not lazy!).  I love it!  I jog in the water with the current and walk/pull my way through going against the current.  This really gets my heart rate up for my 50 minute workout.  It takes strength, no joke.  Besides strengthening me it has really helped with balance.  The water funnels at various points which is tricky.  It feels like fun and reminds me of growing up with swimming pools in So. Cal.  I finally found something I like!  I have to wear water shoes as the bottom of this river is rough. I wear a shorty wetsuit because it was taking me two hours to warm up afterwards.  Sometimes it is really cold water. I see people doing water aerobics classes, lane swimming and walking in a regular pool as therapy after knee surgery etc. but I can’t say enough about the benefits of this moving river!

I think I’m going to try swimming this week, any tips??

Who has been to Harry Potter World?

Tell me a highlight from your weekend!

Tell me something delicious you have made recently?

-A fun side effect of this injury is having more time to make delicious food.
