Beer bread can be made any time of the year but if you’re looking for a quick and simple bread to throw together during the Holiday Season with no yeast this is it.
Have you ever heard of the company Tastefully Simple? Tastefully Simple is a company based out of Alexandria MN that sells premade baking mixes and one of my favorite baking mixes of theirs was for beer bread. They also have spices, sauces, and dip mixes, etc… I’m not sponsored by this company at all, I just had remembered making their bread for a party I had hosted and wanted to find a similar recipe that didn’t require a baking mix in order to make it.
Beer bread was probably by far one of my favorite mixes of theirs and beer bread is something really simple you can make on your own and it only requires 5 ingredients. Those 5 ingredients are self-rising flour, sugar, salt, butter, and a 12 oz bottle of beer. Any kind of beer will do. I know I’ll get people asking me if you use gluten-free flour or almond flour instead of flour.

Why You Will Love This Recipe
I have tested this recipe quite a few times and this one was my favorite.
My previous recipe for beer bread was not working before which was just a can of beer and self rising flour. The top would not turn brown at all cause it was missing an egg wash or butter on the top of it.
This recipe is so much better than one.
Ingredients Needed for Beer Bread
Self Rising Flour–Self-rising flour is a type of flour that already contains baking powder and salt, which are essential ingredients in many baked goods.
Light Beer –When it comes to baking with beer, the best option is to choose a beer that complements the flavors of the other ingredients in the recipe. Popular beer choices include stouts, porters, and bocks. However, lighter beers such as pilsners and wheat beers can also be used in recipes that call for a more subtle beer flavor.
Granulated sugar–I do not use sugar substitutes in any of my recipes but if you know the conversions feel free to do so
Salt –Bread without salt is very bland and tasteless.
Unsalted Butter –The butter gets melted and poured on the bottom of the bread loaf pan and on top of the bread.
See recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

Any type of beer works for this but you can also use a light beer. Whatever beer you have in your fridge just use that. I had a bottle of Blue Ribbon in my fridge.
This beer bread is indeed WW friendly if you plan it into your day. Like I mentioned above this bread is super good with my zero-point chili or white chicken chili recipe.
