What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
After being overweight my entire adult life, I found out in 2022 that I was pre-diabetic and had high cholesterol (close to having a stroke) and high blood sugar. I decided it was time for a lifestyle change. Being a mom of three, I always put myself last. With the help of my nutritionist, I was able to change my eating habits
How did you change your eating habits?
I have a high-protein diet, which my nutritionist put me on in June 2022. However, I didn’t start following the plan until July, after my birthday, lol. I now eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, and I mostly eat protein. I no longer eat rice, pasta, bread, or fried foods. Also, I do not drink any soda or store-bought juice. I juice fruits at home instead.
What is your workout routine? Â
For my workouts, I jump rope, use a hula hoop, and do a lot of walking. Walking is what I consider my main exercise. I also dance to Soca Music.
What was your starting weight?Â
I started at 359 pounds.
What is your current weight?
My current weight is 232 pounds. My goal is 180-190 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’8″.
When did you start your journey?Â
I started in July 2022.
How long did your transformation take?
I am still working to achieve my goal weight.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that I can do anything that I set my mind to.Â
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
You can do it. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Start with small steps. You can do it.
