Shop Editor-Approved Picks at Orvis’ Black Friday Sale

There are mountain people and there are beach people, and I fall under the former category. I prefer cool weather, active days, and scenic views so much that my husband and I spent our honeymoon in Acadia National Park last October. That said, I’m always looking for clothing for these types of vacations, and Orvis’ Black Friday sale is chock-full of comfortable, functional, wrinkle-resistant styles.

In honor of the biggest shopping holiday of the year, Orvis marked down nearly everything on its site by 25 percent, and dropped even bigger deals on select items up to 40 percent off. After combing through all of the travel clothing, I added eight pieces to my virtual cart, including half-zip pullovers, cashmere cardigans, and water-repellent joggers. Keep scrolling to shop my top picks, and hurry, styles are already selling out.

Drift Vest

Orvis

Vests are one of my favorite articles of clothing, as they are the ideal layer when temperatures are in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. This classic puffer will keep me extra comfortable in the cold thanks to its insulation that’s equally warm as 640-fill-power down. One shopper said they wear it “at least five times a week,” and it “washes beautifully.”

Well-Worn Crewneck Sweatshirt

Orvis

No matter where I’m traveling, I always make sure to pack at least two sweatshirts because I’m constantly reaching for them at night when I want to be extra cozy. This on-sale crewneck caught my eye because it’s more elevated than my worn-out styles. I plan to layer this with the puffer vest as a comfy yet cute look for hiking.

Heritage Teddy Jacket

Orvis

This teddy jacket nails my comfy, stylish, outdoorsy style thanks to its cozy fleece fabric, button-down design, and rich chocolate brown color. I also love that it would keep me warm without being super bulky and hard to pack.

Anywear Oversized Ribbed Cardigan

Orvis

As the name suggests, this oversized cardigan can be worn to the airport, over my shoulders or around my waist while sightseeing, and while lounging in the hotel. Shoppers say it’s “well-made,” “roomy but not boxy,” and “perfect for the cooler days.”

One & Done Joggers

Orvis

I’m in serious need of more hiking pants, and these joggers fit the bill. They are water-repellent, which is great for rainy days and challenging trails, have a drawstring waistband for a customized fit, and feature zipper pockets to keep essentials secure while on the go.

Hill Country Microfleece 1/2-Zip

Orvis

Half-zip pullovers are a go-to of mine, whether I’m hiking in the mountains or walking around my neighborhood, and this microfleece option is a no-brainer for this time of year. It’s soft, warm, and can be worn solo or under a vest or coat when it’s really chilly.

Garment-Dyed Shirt Jacket

Orvis

I’m a fan of the workwear jacket trend that’s popular right now, and in my opinion, is always in style, so I’m eyeing this discounted find during Orvis’ Black Friday sale. It’s slightly cropped and has a vintage look thanks to the garment-dyed fabric that’s a heavyweight cotton twill. The hardest part is choosing between the camel and olive green colors.

Boiled Cashmere Cardigan

Orvis

I’m in the process of building a capsule wardrobe, and this cashmere cardigan would be a great staple layering piece for it, whether I’m at home or on a trip. I could style it in so many ways within one trip, including over pajamas in the morning while sipping coffee outside, a basic white T-shirt while exploring a new town, and a dress for a nice dinner.
