Kizik slip-ons have long been on my list of favorite travel shoes, whether for navigating my family through airport security or keeping my feet blister-free on long days at theme parks. So, when planning my first-ever trip to London, I knew I wanted to purchase a brand new pair of Kizik shoes for the trip. During my visit, I’d planned a stay near Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the 2012 Summer Olympics, in the Stratford area at a fairly new hotel, Yotelpad London Stratford. Due to the hotel’s incredibly close proximity to the park and a tube station, I knew I’d be doing tons of walking on my trip and that comfortable walking shoes like the Kizik Milan would be a must-have.
I had a tough time choosing which Kizik Milan color I wanted; from pink to gray, plus lots of different colors of accents and trim, the options were impressive. I’d done some TikTok research on London style trends, so I knew I’d be packing things like wide-leg jeans and belted-waist trench coats. Based on my packing plans, I chose the Kizik Milan in Optic White, a sleek leather style that’s primarily white with black and red accents since I knew they’d match everything I was planning to pack. When they arrived, I slipped them on hands-free — just like other styles of Kizik sneakers — and found that they fit perfectly. Because I’ve worn many pairs of Kiziks straight from the box without irritation or blisters, I didn’t worry about breaking them in before my trip.

The real first test for my new pair of Kizik Milans was the long flight from Miami, Florida to Heathrow. Paired with my favorite Cozy Earth sweatsuit and CEP compression socks, the shoes completed what may just be the perfect travel outfit. Kiziks are easy to slip on and off while going through security, and the Milans were extremely comfortable for walking around the airport. After a nine-hour flight, it felt amazing to walk through the Heathrow airport and stretch my legs, and my feet didn’t hurt at all thanks to the support and comfort of my Milans.

During the trip, I spent an entire day on a non-stop walking tour of London. While the Yotelpad I stayed at was close to the London Underground, there was lots of walking to do between tube stations in order to see sights like Big Ben and Borough Market. We toured the London Tower Bridge (which included so much stair-climbing), walked to Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, and hopped on the tube to visit Notting Hill for some shopping. I was on my feet for at least 12 hours, and never once did my these slip-on shoes rub painfully or give me a blister. Instead, I spent the day feeling like my feet were supported and comfortable, despite walking around 11 miles (nearly 25,000 steps) through the course of the day.
I happily wore my Kiziks throughout the trip, as they never felt uncomfortable to put back on, unlike some sneakers after walking in them for a full day. And, when it was time to fly back to my home in Florida, my Kiziks were again my airport shoe of choice, this time with my favorite Fanka compression leggings and more CEP compression socks. As with my initial flight, the Milan shoe proved to be the real MVP as I breezed through security and did all the walking required during air travel.
I’m not alone in my love of the Kizik Milan sneaker. “Milan are my favorite [Kiziks style] as they mesh so well with a lot of my outfits,” wrote one reviewer on the Kizik website. “They were comfortable right out [of] the box.” Another wrote, “I was looking for a slip-on, comfortable, cute, walk-in, all-day shoe for my travels in Japan … I alternated between these and a pair of waterproof shoes and walked an average eight miles a day with no blisters, no back pain, and no sore feet! Highly recommend them.”

Buying and loving yet another pair of Kizik shoes has solidified my opinion that when it comes to travel sneakers, there’s no better brand. If you have air travel coming up, try the Milans for your trip. They’re comfortable, stylish, and will keep your feet happy whether you’re scrambling to make your connecting flight, touring a city on foot, or shopping for souvenirs in an outdoor market.
