(leggings, long sleeve, jacket, headband)
Up to 8 miles, yesterday! 8:30 average with Jess, and a slide into the leaves to show my kids when I got home. It’s a good thing I didn’t think about bugs or spiders before doing this… but I did for the rest of the run!
I’ve been waking up feeling more anxious than normal, so I started googling meditations to listen to while I get ready for my workout. They would be more effective if I was lying down listening to them, but they help while getting ready, too!
Oh, the age where they love to help out with chores and feel so accomplished doing so.
The 7″ of my absolute favorite pair of shorts ever is still on sale… The pockets, material, and fit are so good.
We were able to meet up with my cute mom at Kneader’s.
That brother hug when they haven’t seen each other in a few days…
Last week, we went to the German Christmas Market up north, and I had this pretzel and fondue there. I told everyone I came across that the pretzel changed my life and when I told my 100th person about this fact, they said, “You know those are your neighbor’s pretzels.” It was our good friend’s booth (I didn’t see the sign ha), and he has these at his restaurant (La Jolla Groves) that we go to but have somehow missed. I will be able to have these pretzels whenever I want now. Miracles are real.
Today is heavy on the food talk…. Dinner was this super easy potato and corn chowder.
And dessert was this peppermint crunch pie!
The other day, Christine asked if I could do a baking post with my favorite baking recipes, so here we go. Baking is about 100 times more fun for me than cooking. Does anyone else agree?
*Let’s start with Brooke’s grandma’s cinnamon roll recipe. I might be biased, but these are the best cinnamon rolls on the planet. I feel so lucky to still be close to Brooke’s other family; we were just texting about these cinnamon rolls the other day! Brooke’s grandma is serving a church mission in FRANCE right now, and she forgot her recipes at home, so I sent her this recipe to make in France.
*I have made and loved this braided bread for 15 years now and still love it as much as I did the 1st time I tried it.
*Brooke makes these dinner rolls and they are FABULOUS. I love to make this sandwich bread.
*The best crescent rolls you will ever have that my niece makes for us, and we eat ten each because they are so good.
*I’ll always bring these hot chocolate cookies when I go to a Christmas cookie exchange. They win every time. I also love these peppermint frosting cookies this time of year.
*My brother’s s’mores bars that are addicting.
*My goto banana muffins.
*I used to be VERY into cupcake baking and voted this snickerdoodle cupcake recipe to be the best.
*The chocolate chip cookies that I swear by, and the chocolate chip cookies that Andrew believes to be the true cookie.
*If I could only choose two websites for the rest of my life to cook or bake from, they would be A Bountiful Kitchen and Mel’s Kitchen Cafe. I’ve had a 100% success rate with both.

Baking or cooking, which do you prefer? Any recipes to add to the list that people must try?
Are there any meditations or apps you recommend listening to in the mornings? What do you do to start the day off right?
If you could only choose one website or cookbook to use for the rest of your life to bake or cook from…. Which one would it be?
