Looking for the perfect winter smoothie pick me up? Just turn to the winter-time fruits pomegranates and mandarin oranges to power your healthy smoothie beverage. These fruits provide a plethora of nutrients, including vitamin C and phytochemicals, in addition to fiber and potassium, to stock your nutrients for the day. A spoonful of tahini powers up the flavor and health profile of this Mandarin Pomegranate Smoothie—these foods are found together in the Mediterranean diet, after all—and plant-based milk adds additional protein and creaminess to this completely plant-based (vegan), gluten-free pomegranate seed smoothie you can make in 5 minutes with only 5 ingredients. Smoothies with pomegranate are a great way to add a festive touch during the holidays, as well as take advantage of seasonal fruit when it’s available. Dropping a few pomegranate seeds in smoothies provides a healthy, nutritious way to enjoy the rich sweet-tart flavor and ruby color of the season, with a bright citrus touch compliments of mandarins.
