American Airlines Adds Flights to Quebec, Calgary, Bozeman, and More From These U.S. Hubs

American Airlines has just announced a notable expansion to Canada and the Rockies next year.

“In summer 2025, American will launch five new routes to help connect customers with their favorite outdoor destinations,” the airline shared in a statement with T+L. “From convenient access to breathtaking glaciers, awe-inspiring wildlife, and unique natural landscapes, travelers planning their New Year’s resolutions will have more ways to enjoy the great outdoors from Nova Scotia to Montana.”

The carrier will introduce Saturday-only service on five entirely new routes operated on a seasonal basis:

  • Chicago (ORD) to/from Halifax (YHZ): June 21 to Oct. 24
  • Dallas (DFW) to/from Québec City (YQB): Aug. 9 to Nov. 1
  • New York (LGA) to/from Calgary (YYC): June 7 to Aug. 30
  • New York (LGA) to/from Bozeman (BZN): June 7 to Aug. 30
  • New York (LGA) to/from Kalispell (FCA): June 7 to Aug. 30

The first two routes will be operated with its fleet of Embraer E175 aircraft in a 2-2 configuration in economy, while all the flights from New York’s LaGuardia will be serviced with a larger Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft. American Airlines will be the only carrier to operate service on all of these new routes.

Notably, there will be more nonstop flights to Bozeman than ever for the summer 2025 season. Major competitors Delta Air Lines and JetBlue also offer nonstop flights between nearby New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Bozeman, while United Airlines provides service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) with more frequent service during peak summer. That said, American’s new service from LaGuardia may be the most convenient airport for most New Yorkers.

2025 will be the year that dozens of new flights to Canada will take off for the first time, with smaller cities like Tampa, Raleigh, and Nashville gaining nonstop service to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) through Air Canada. Additionally, smaller Canadian carriers like Porter Airlines and Flair Airlines will provide connections to U.S. cities, operating from Toronto and Alberta, respectively.
