The Best Post-Workout Snacks


Have you ever struggled to figure our what to eat after a workout? The right post-workout snacks are crucial for muscle recovery, replenishing your energy and getting results, but it can be hard to know what the best post-workout foods really are.

What You Need

When it comes to refueling your body after a workout the main things you want to look for our healthy carbs and proteins. I always recommend aiming for 20g of carbs and 20g of protein so your body can make sure all your hard work pays off!

These are some of my favorite healthy post-workout snacks that you can easily make at home or grab on the go after a serious sweat sesh.

Almond Butter Stuffed Dates 

These little powerhouses are a perfect blend of natural sugars and healthy fats. The natural sweetness of dates paired with creamy almond butter creates a mouthwatering combination that’s rich in fiber, protein, and essential nutrients.

I always recommend adding 1 scoop of LSF plant protein in water or milk on the side to get your 20g protein. 

Protein-Packed Smoothie

Sweet Potato with Almond Butter and Coconut Flakes 

Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, which are essential for replenishing glycogen stores. Spread a dollop of almond butter on a half-cooked sweet potato and sprinkle some coconut flakes for a tasty combination of healthy fats, fiber, and vitamins. 

Veggie-Loaded Pita with Hummus 

Try a pita filled with your favorite veggies and 1-2tbsp of hummus. This snack provides a balance of carbohydrates and protein to aid in muscle recovery. 

Protein-Packed Toast with Hard-Boiled Eggs

Pairing protein-rich eggs with whole-grain toast creates a post-workout snack that’s both filling and nutritious. The combination of protein and complex carbohydrates helps replenish energy stores and supports muscle repair. 

Cacao-Nut Protein Bites

This one mot only makes a great post workout snack, it’s a delicious dessert swap too! The cacao-nut protein bites they have everything you need for a quick hit of energy post-workout and will leave you feeling amazing. 

Tuna and Whole Grain Crackers

Tuna is a great of lean protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for muscle recovery and overall health. Try making it with Greek yogurt instead of mayo and spread it on whole grain crackers for a quick post-workout snack. 

Cinnamon-Sprinkled Apple Slices with LSF Plant Protein 

Simple, crunchy, and satisfying, this snack is a winner. The natural sugars in apples give you a quick energy boost, while the plant-based protein powder adds an extra punch of protein, making it an ideal choice for post-workout recovery.
