Ingredients You’ll Need
- Salmon. Use any type of salmon, skin on or skinless, as long as they’re fillets.
- Chili Oil. We love our homemade version, it keeps in the pantry for months and super easy to make. Store bought works too.
- Hot Honey. While you can use any sweetener or regular honey, we love the spice hot honey.
- Aromatics. Scallions, sesame seeds, garlic and ginger if you’d like-these add so much flavor to the salmon.
How to Make Sweet Chili Salmon
- The first step is to have your sweet chili sauce ready. You can get it store bought or prepare it at home using the Chili Oil Recipe as a base, adding to it honey, soy sauce, ginger , garlic and spice.
- Next you will use a spoon and cover the surface of the salmon fillets with the sauce, on both sides.
- Use your hands to massage the sweet chili oil well into the salmon and pace the fillets back on the baking sheet.
- You can at this point bake the salmon or broil it. Preheat the oven based on the cooking technique you prefer.
- For today’s recipe, we chose the broil method. It’s quicker with a delicious crust on the fish.
- Once ready and out of the oven, use a spoon and add in more of the chili oil on top.
- Garnish with extra sesame seeds if you’d like, some chives or minced green onions and cilantro if you like. And there you have it! Perfect Sweet Chili Salmon ready in 20 minutes!

- Add in extra spice if you like with extra chilli flakes.
- Any type of salmon would work here. Skin on or skinless, Atlantic or wild–just make sure it’s a fillet.
