Did I do a little SPEED? Never predicted this…

After dropping off the kids at school, I had zero plans to do any speed work yesterday, but the temperatures forced me to pick up the pace. I realized if I went a little faster than what I’m used to, my toes would no longer feel absolutely frozen. I’m grateful the 9°F forced me to rip the speed bandaid off.

The last time I ran under a 7-minute mile was at the beginning of October at the St. George Marathon, which I dropped out of because of the nerve pain I was experiencing. Ten miles @ 7:34 average, and I have zero clue how I ever ran multiple miles in a row faster than this because this was SO hard.

I tried this new to me flavor from Perk yesterday, which I adored. I love it when brands offer packets so you can try out the flavor before buying it in bulk! I’m hooked on having a slower morning while I drink Perk.

We did some grocery shopping…

We went to an orthodontist consultation (Brooke, Knox, and Skye are all getting braces this year… thankfully, they do a sibling discount, and Andrew just started getting orthodontics insurance).

Beck was actually upset that they won’t put braces on him this year, too.

100 days of school is coming up and we made 100 paper airplanes for Skye to bring to school. The fact that no paper cuts occurred during this activity was a miracle.

I love a warm dinner but sometimes I just want a peanut butter, banana, thin slices of apple sandwich.

Did anyone else see this? I couldn’t even keep up with him for 400m…

As I got so excited to start another episode of one of my new favorite podcast series, I thought about high school me. Never would I have thought that I would choose listening to someone talking over listening to music, nor did I imagine being giddy to learn about history.

Anything in your life that high school you would have never predicted you loving?
