Transformation of the Day: While living with a number of health challenges, Diana received a life-changing warning from her doctor in late 2023. He told her to transform her lifestyle or face dire consequences. Determined to regain her health, she decided to fight for her life and her family. Thirteen months later, Diana is 105 lbs lighter, stronger than ever, and living proof that faith, determination, and discipline can spark incredible change.

Reflecting on the journey that brought me here – 105 lbs down and stronger than ever. This wasn’t just about losing weight; it was about reclaiming my health, my confidence, and my life. Every drop of sweat, every tough choice, every moment of perseverance was worth it. Hard work pays off, and I’m living proof. Let’s make this year one of unstoppable growth and victories! 

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation came from a dire warning from my doctor around Thanksgiving 2023, who told me I wouldn’t survive the next six months if I didn’t act immediately. This was a wake-up call after struggling with health issues like mini heart attacks, high cholesterol, blood pressure problems, and depression. My faith and family, especially my two children, inspired me to keep going. I wanted to be healthy for them and show them that it’s never too late to fight for your life.

How did you change your eating habits?
I adopted a clean, balanced diet and eliminated processed foods, sugary snacks, and fried items. Instead, I focused on whole, nutrient-dense foods like vegetables, lean proteins, fruits, and healthy fats. I also followed meal plans tailored to hormonal imbalances and PCOS.

Portion control became a priority. I ensured every meal had a balance of macronutrients. I also incorporated intermittent fasting for better discipline and digestion.

What is your workout routine?
I started with walking daily and gradually increased my intensity. My current routine includes:

• Cardio: Walking, boxing, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) three times a week

• Strength Training: Weightlifting four times a week to build muscle and burn fat

• Functional Training: Bodyweight exercises like squats, push-ups, and planks

• Flexibility: Yoga or stretching sessions for recovery and stress relief. Kickboxing: Helps me burn and sweat

How often did you work out?
Initially, I worked out five days a week, focusing on walking and light exercises. As I gained stamina, I increased to six days a week, alternating between cardio and strength training.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Starting Weight (December 2023): 3XL size, approximately 280 lbs.
Current Weight: 175 lbs (as of January 2025).

What is your height?
I am 5’8” tall.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I began my journey in December 2023. It took me about 13 months to lose 105 pounds and transform my health and lifestyle.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, weight loss surgery wasn’t part of my journey. My transformation came through lifestyle changes, faith, and determination to stay alive for my kids.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson is that consistency outweighs motivation. There were days I didn’t feel like eating clean or working out, but I stuck to my plan anyway. Discipline and self-love are the keys to any long-term success.

I also learned that weight loss isn’t just physical; it’s mental and emotional too. You have to reset your mindset and thinking. 

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Start small and focus on progress, not perfection. Find a sustainable routine that works for you. Prioritize your mental and physical health equally, and don’t compare your journey to others. Surround yourself with supportive people, and remember that self-love isn’t just about acceptance but also about taking care of yourself.
