Electric vehicles are more popular than ever, thanks to Tesla. Elon Musk’s company inspired many to create new EV models, like the Chevrolet Bolt EUV and BMW iX.

Recently, China showed its latest electric vehicle (EV) development: Mega, the world’s largest EV.

Interesting Engineering said it is 17.5 feet (5.35 m) long, 6.44 feet (1.965 m) wide, and 6.1 feet (1.85 m) tall. Also, it has seven seats that fit large families.

What do we know about Mega?

The official Li Auto website said Mega “offers ultimate comfort for every family member.” The interior boasts a 17-inch OLED flagship screen, refrigerator, platinum audio system, and an intelligent fresh air system.

It has adjustable seats in all three rows, a gull-wing tail door, oversized electric sliding doors, and internal and external power outlets.

Li designed its huge EV to alleviate range anxiety. It is the worry that an electric car’s battery will run out too fast and it will be difficult to find a charging station.

Mega’s base is an 800-volt battery electric platform with a Li Auto-CATL Qilin 5C battery. It has a capacity of 102.7 kWh that supports a CTLC (China light-duty vehicle test cycle) range of 710 km.

It can achieve a driving range of 500 km with a 12-minute charge. Moreover, Mega’s energy consumption is 15.9 kWh per 100 km.

Li Auto claims this is “the world’s lowest among battery electric four-wheel drive MPVs.” Also, the massive EV earns the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index’s G rating, which is the highest.

The electric van uses two NVIDIA Orin-X chips and 508 TOPS of computing power to provide full-scenario autonomous driving, automated parking, and AEB active safety.

It also uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip to power its Mind GPT, which “serves as an encyclopedic teacher and a reliable assistant in driving, travel, and entertainment for the whole family.”
