15 Lululemon Après-ski Jackets, Leggings, and More

Recently, a Redditor said that Lululemon needed to drop an après-ski collection, which generated more than 550 upvotes — including one from me. As a former Lululemon employee, I still dress in head-to-toe Lulu. And, as a Montanan, I’ve been carving down slopes since I was too short to ride on roller coasters and waterslides. So, a post-mountain collection from the activewear brand is like music to my ears — and it makes perfect sense since Lululemon is famous for making athleisure apparel très chic. Reddit may have been onto something because I recently discovered a semi-secret Lululemon Après-ski Shop with nearly 300 items — and it seems to be growing every day.

I wish I’d had a few of these curated looks with me last week when I was skiing — and après-skiing — with Dolomiti Superski in Italy. Europe’s après-ski scene is equal parts style and Aperol. While you can après-ski indoors, it’s much more fun al fresco — which means your clothes need to provide plenty of warmth. Finally, I want to reiterate that you don’t have to ski or snowboard to enjoy slopeside socializing; half of the crowd at Big Sky’s “Peakside Pours” only come for the live music and complimentary wine tastings.

So, whether you’re a skier, a boarder, or simply someone who likes to have a good time, below are 15 Lululemon clothes and accessories I’m eyeing (and soon buying) from the après-ski shop, from warm winter coats to cozy leg warmers.

Coats and Jackets

Featherweight 900-down-fill Puffer Jacket

lululemon

It may seem counterintuitive, but the higher the fill-power, the lighter the jacket. In fact, this 900-down-fill puffer is basically a toasty warm wearable cloud. One shopper who left a rave review even calls it their “happy place.” But unlike a cloud, this puffer doesn’t hold moisture. It’s water-repellent, so you don’t need to worry about snow flurries or spills. (Accidents can happen even while après-ing; last week I accidentally dumped a glass of wine on my travel writer friend Todd Plummer.) Another big selling point? It packs down into a small pouch that clips into one of the hand pockets.

Pack It Down 700-fill Jacket

lululemon

I also love Lululemon’s best-selling (it has more than 500 five-star ratings) Pack It Down 700-Fill Jacket for après because it has a slimmer fit that allows me to wear it under my ski shell. So, if I go straight from the slopes to socializing, all I have to do is remove my outer layer for this chic look. In fact, one satisfied shopper goes so far as to call it a “timeless piece.” Features include a zip-off hood, hand pockets with a hidden sleeve for a credit card or hotel key, and a stuff sack; when compressed, this jacket takes up about as much luggage space as a water bottle.

Snow Warrior 600-down-fill Parka

lululemon

It actually rained on us in the Dolomites, so I could have used this waterproof parka. The seams are sealed so not a single drop of moisture seeps through, and five zippered pockets keep your essentials dry. The Snow Parka — which has more than 300 five-star ratings — is also a great après option because it has inside straps so you can wear it like a backpack if you get too toasty, and the fleece collar is also removable. “It definitely kept me warm in 0-degree Fahrenheit [weather],” wrote one shopper who got this parka for trips to Canada and Colorado. Unfortunately, it doesn’t pack down like the other two jackets; but it’s a longer length that covers your bum making it perfect for pairing with leggings.

Warm Leggings

Fast and Free High-rise Thermal Tight 28”

lululemon

After wearing ski pants all day, I love après-ing in form-fitting leggings. Granted, I don’t want to freeze to death which is why I’m drawn to Lululemon’s Fast and Free High-rise Thermal Tights. They’re made of a thick (but not too bulky) recycled polyester that insulates better than traditional leggings. One shopper wrote that they even “held up well on a snowy 8-mile run in 18-degree Fahrenheit weather.” I’m also a big fan of all the pockets: five to be exact. Looking for a cropped pick or an option if you’re on the shorter side? These tights are also available in a 25-inch length

Fleece High-rise Running Tight 28”

lululemon

While the Fleece High-rise Running Tights don’t have as many pockets as the Fast and Free Thermal Tights, they’re made of nylon, so they’re better at repelling water. Choose from six colors including four classics and two trending colors: Ripened Raspberry and Riverstone. And while they have “running” in their name, you don’t need to be training for a marathon for them to become your go-to bottoms. “Great for any outdoor activity on their own or as a base layer!” wrote one shopper.

Satin Shine High-rise Tight 25”

lululemon

Add some serious oomph to your après activities with these Satin Shine High-rise Tights. “They are so sleek I keep rubbing my legs to feel the satiny fabric,” wrote one shopper who says they also fit perfectly and give a smooth silhouette. And just because they turn heads, it doesn’t mean you can’t work out in them. Like most Lululemon leggings, these tights are practical and technical. They boast a back drop-in pocket, four-way stretch, and a touch of Lycra so they don’t lose their shape.

Sweaters, Sweatshirts, and More Top Layers

Alpaca Wool-blend Cardigan Sweater

lululemon

When it comes to wool, I’ve always worshipped cashmere. But the more I learn about alpaca wool, the more I think I could convert. Like cashmere and Merino, alpaca is naturally odor-resistant and helps regulate your body temperature (so you don’t freeze or overheat). Shoppers say Lululemon’s Alpaca Wool-blend Cardigan Sweater is easy to dress up or down, and when it comes to moving between après venues, it helps to have a versatile layer. Choose from two colors, Pink Mist and Heathered Core, and expect an “exaggerated” (i.e. subtly oversized) fit.

Hold Tight Boatneck Long-sleeve Shirt

lululemon

Lululemon’s Hold Tight Boatneck Long-sleeve Shirt speaks to me for après-ski because it looks like it could be a wardrobe staple of the late, great Audrey Hepburn — an avid skier and big fan of boatneck tops. After being bundled up all day on the mountain, I love showing a little skin, even if it’s just my collarbone. While I’m familiar with most of Lululemon’s signature fabrics, this shirt is made of something I haven’t encountered yet: Lenzing Modal. It’s a fabric derived from beech tree pulp that’s super soft and comfortable.

Reversible Crossover Sweater

lululemon

Get two looks for the price of one via Lululemon’s Reversible Crossover Sweater. With its pillowy sleeves and boxy silhouette that one shopper said “drapes beautifully,” it’s perfect for après-ing in dressier destinations like Aspen and St. Moritz. One side of the sweater has a traditional hem length, while the other (tastefully) shows a little skin via a tapered cut. It’s definitely a unique piece that Lululemon has never offered before. But it has 260 five-star ratings, so I expect it to stay in circulation.

Scuba Oversized Funnel-neck Half Zip Velvet

lululemon

Part of Lululemon’s signature Scuba Collection, this funnel-neck half zip has a huge following despite being a relatively new drop. “It’s the perfect blend of cozy and chic!” wrote one shopper while others say they can’t wear it out without receiving compliments. Made of a luxe, velvety fabric, it’s ideal for fancier après establishments. That said, it’s extremely practical. The high neck keeps drafts out, the kangaroo pocket protects valuables, the thumbholes provide extra hand warmth, and the zipper pull can be used as a ponytail holder.

Wunder Puff 600-down-fill Cropped Vest

lululemon

If you want to stay cozy but not feel constricted by sleeves while you socialize and unwind from the day, vests are the best option. With nearly 800 five-star ratings, this particular Lululemon vest is clearly a beloved investment piece. It’s water-repellant, windproof, and cropped (so it pairs nicely with high-rise pants). Thanks to the relaxed fit, it’s easy to layer over sweaters, and if you don’t want the hood, simply unsnap it. Meanwhile, the adjustable hem allows you to customize the fit, and the zippered hand pockets keep essentials safe. Note: many shoppers say to size down.

Wundermost Ultra-soft Nulu Turtleneck Bodysuit

lululemon

I hate when tops creep up, especially in cold weather, which is why I’m slowly (but surely) opening up to the idea of bodysuits. Lululemon’s Wundermost Ultra-soft Nulu Turtleneck Bodysuit is appealing because it has snaps that “make bathroom breaks a breeze,” and the fabric is brushed — meaning the fibers are combed so they’re fluffier. “It’s the most comfortable bodysuit I’ve experienced,” wrote one shopper who wears it with jeans, leggings, and skirts.

Accessories

Wunder Puff Mittens

lululemon

Happy hour with cold hands can be miserable, which is why I’d never après without these Wunder Puff Mittens. Yes, they’re pricey, but you get what you pay for. The water-repellent, windproof shell is insulated with 600-fill-power goose down, and the cuffs can be cinched to lock in warmth. One shopper with Raynaud’s calls them “the best cure for cold hands.” Need to respond to a text or take a sip of your hot toddy? No problem. The “pop-top” opening quickly frees your fingers.

Ribbed Knit Merino Wool-blend Leg Warmer

lululemon

You don’t have to be in your “Flashdance” era to fall in love with these leg warmers that one shopper describes as “chic, comforting, and cozy.” They have an impressive 4.8-star average rating with many reviews mentioning how well they stay in place. Of course, in addition to elevating your look, these Lululemon leg warmers are designed to keep shivering at bay when you brave winter temps just wearing tights.

Close-fit Wool-blend Ribbed Knit Beanie

lululemon

“Strategically knit” for a snug fit, this unisex Lululemon beanie is a must for windy après outings. It’s not the cheapest hat that money can buy, but keep in mind that it’s made of 40-percent premium Merino wool that regulates your body temperature and is antibacterial (perfect for after a sweaty day on the slopes). In layman’s terms, it’s never too hot or cold, and you can wear it for weeks between washings. You’ll probably like it so much you’ll want to wear it even when it’s warm out. “Rolls up well above the ears for a fisherman’s beanie look,” wrote one shopper.
