I’ve been seeing this sweet potato bowl with ground beef bowl all over Tiktok along with the viral onion chips. I love it cause it’s packed with protein and lots of whole foods. Have you been seeing this trend lately? It kind of reminds me of the easy rice and salmon bowl from awhile back.

Lately, I’ve just been trying to eat more whole foods and protein based meals with at least 25-30 grams of protein per meal and this really hits the spot. When I eat this way I feel full and my blood sugar levels don’t spike much.
I air fry the sweet potatoes while the ground beef is cooking in the skillet. This saves a lot of time. Any other ingredients I have leftover, I save in meal prep containers for the week. It’s easy peasy and this whole entire combo is delicious.
Air fryer sweet potatoes are a delicious and healthy that can complement any meal including ground beef and cottage cheese. 😉

Ingredients Needed Sweet Potato and Ground Beef Bowls
- 1 pound grass fed ground beef – I get this at Aldi, it’s great! Cook the pound of ground beef and save the rest for later if you are just making a single serving.
- 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and diced (I’ve also tried this with regular potatoes)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup of cottage cheese – When making your own bowl or serving you can use however much you like
- 2 avocados, diced or sliced
- Hot Honey – for drizzling
- Salt and pepper to taste. Instead of salt and pepper flavor your ground beef with Taco Seasoning
How to Make Sweet Potato and Beef Bowls
Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.
Cut the sweet potatoes into even-sized cubes or wedges to ensure they cook evenly.
In a large bowl, toss the sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add any additional herbs or spices you prefer for extra flavor.

Air Fry the sweet potatoes for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the sweet potatoes are tender and golden brown on the outside. Check them at 10 and continue cooking until brown and crispy. (I’ve left them in too long at 20 minutes and they were burnt)
While the sweet potatoes are cooking make the ground beef. Heat a non stick skillet to medium heat and cook the beef until no longer pink in the middle. Can add taco seasoning to the beef if desired.

Assemble the bowl – Add ground beef, cooked sweet potatoes, diced avocado, and cottage cheese to a bowl. Then drizzle with Mikes Hot Honey.
Tips for Cooking Ground Beef

Color: Cook until the beef is no longer pink. If using a thermometer, the internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
Taste Test: Take a small piece to taste for seasoning, adjusting as needed with spices or herbs.
Remove Grease: After cooking, drain the excess fat by tilting the skillet and using a spoon, or pour the beef into a strainer lined with paper towels for a healthier dish.
Add garlic, onions, or bell peppers to the pan while cooking for added flavor.
Incorporate taco seasoning, cumin, or smoked paprika for a twist on classic ground beef.
By following these tips, you can create a carnivore pizza crust that’s not only delicious but also aligns with your dietary preferences. Enjoy your culinary adventure!
