Before being Full Time RV Newbies, we had the pleasure of staying Colonial Meadows on Memorial Day weekend in 2021 with a small group of friends. We were a late add on to the group that was going that weekend, and I will admit, when we called a week before the holiday weekend and asked if they had an open site so we could tag along with the group and they did. I was like oh boy, shouldn’t they be booked solid by now?
We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived and stayed happy through the entire weekend of cold and rainy days. This campground is a diamond in the rough, and new owners Mike and Adriane are working hard to bring it back from where it had gotten to, to a great family destination.
Reading their reviews online everyone raves about how friendly and accommodating they are, and after staying here for the weekend I can tell you that they aren’t lying. Upon pulling in we were met with an energetic smile and welcome from Adriane, and after check in Mike escorted us to our site.
We were in the big field, and even though the sites weren’t set up to be buddy sites, Mike got us set up so that most of the 6 campers were facing each other to make it easier to keep an eye on the lil campers in the group.
They have an old school game room with all the rainy day necessities like Ms Pac Man, Air hockey, Drag Racing and Pool. The live band that was scheduled for Saturday is sure to be cancelled due to rain right? Wrong. Mike and Adriane got to work setting up rain walls on one side of the pavilion and hired a tent company to put one up the same size as the pavilion right next to it with walls on it to double the size of the dance floor and keep the rain at bay.
The activity list is full of fun stuff for the kids, and the pool is open well into the night for those hot summer days. Mike and Adriane have started some of the upgrades around the park like all the brand new picnic tables and completely redone pool side restrooms, and a lot more planned as they continue to make their dream a reality.
This campground is a great spot to make your “home base” if you plan on staying in and exploring South Jersey as they have 4 public golf courses right around the corner, and are less than 25 minutes away from Atlantic City and Ocean City. There is nearby watersports and fishing charters available and a whole host of other activities in the area.
Connect with them on Facebook here.
Check our their website here to get some more information about them or to book your stay. Tell Mike and Adriane we said Hi, and who knows, we may even run into you one weekend, because Us and the Cassville Campers will definitely be back!
