French fries…who doesn’t love them? No one I think. But there is one thing we definitely don’t love about them, most restaurant French fries are fried in seed oils. Sometimes seed oils that are weeks old and have been reused 100’s of times. Seed oils (known as trans fats) cause inflammation. So how can we enjoy fries without the unhealthy downside? Air Fryer French Fries (Whole30) made with olive oil and sea salt, that’s how!
Why Use an Air Fryer?
So one of the reasons I am late to the air fryer game is that I am a pretty traditional girl when it comes to cooking methods. THAT SAID, now that I have an air fryer I see the appeal.! It’s very fast, everything turns out crispy, and you can get that crispiness without deep frying. Of course, I still want you to use healthy fats in your cooking, because I am all about those healthy fats! I encourage you to stick to extra virgin olive oil, butter/ghee, avocado or coconut oil when using your air fryer. Good quality organic cooking sprays are fine too.
Air Fryer French Fries (Whole30): So Easy, So Good!
Air Fryer French Fries are very easy to make, simply slice a large russet potato thinly, toss with a good quality olive oil and sea salt, and cook for 20 minutes in the air fryer! So good!
Variations:
If you want to jazz up your fries a little, you can always switch up your seasonings. Sea salt with freshly chopped rosemary is delicious. I also love Redmond Seasoning Salt for this recipe. Or you can also sprinkle with sea salt and pepper, then add freshly grated Parmesan Cheese for the couple minutes of cooking. Swoon!
