Alaska Airlines Has Deep Discounts on Flights Starting at $69 — How to Book

A popular airline is offering travelers a way to save on upcoming summer travel.

Alaska Airlines, based in Seattle, has begun advertising flight deals as low as $69 or 4,500 miles one-way on its homepage. The promotion directs travelers to Alaska’s deals page, where people can select their departure city and see deals available in their market. The cheap flights are in Alaska’s ‘Saver’ Category of fares, which are the most restrictive fare and do not provide seat selection or changes.

Travel + Leisure spotted a variety of notable deals including:

  • Las Vegas to San Diego for $69
  • Las Vegas to Seattle for $89
  • New York (JFK) to Seattle for $149
  • Seattle to Bozeman for $89 or 4,500 miles + $6
  • Seattle to Dallas – Love Field (DAL) for $119 or 9,000 miles + $5

From Los Angeles’ LAX airport, travelers can fly to Cancun for $199 one-way, Honolulu for $149, and Portland for $89 or 6,500 miles and six dollars.

The deals expire on June 3, and travelers can book flights directly on Alaska’s website. As shown in the examples, the promotion also includes discount mileage redemptions through Alaska’s Mileage Plan, which was recently ranked as one of the top frequent flyer programs in the US.

For those passengers who book flights over the summer, they may be surprised with complimentary upgrades. Alaska recently announced a promotion between June 1 and September 2 that will provide upgrades for passengers from Main Cabin to premium cabins.

The airline has been on the move announcing new flights to Las Vegas from San Diego, and from Portland to Atlanta. The airline also announced a new route from New York’s JFK to Anchorage, which is now Alaska’s longest flight in its network.

Airlines publish discount fares and maintain ‘deals’ pages that can help travelers save on their next flight. For example, United Airlines publishes deals on the “current offers and promos” page, and Delta has a “current deals” page.
