It just got easier to plan a summer getaway to Florida.
Allegiant Airlines recently announced the return of fifteen nonstop flights to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, in Florida’s Emerald Coast, as part of seasonal summer service. Travelers will be able to visit the popular vacation destination from Des Moines, Knoxville, Tulsa, and other cities the airline confirmed to Travel + Leisure.
“We are excited to bring back these seasonal routes for passengers to enjoy some of our network’s most popular destinations just in time for summer vacations,” Allegiant’s Chief Revenue Officer Drew Wells said in a statement to T+L.
The start dates of the new routes vary between May 16 and June 1, and travelers can find a full schedule of flights on Allegiant’s website. Fares for the new routes start as low as $48, and T+L spotted wide availability throughout the summer.
The full list of cities that will offer the new nonstop service include Asheville, Clarksburg / Morgantown, Des Moines, Evansville, Huntington, Knoxville, Lexington, Little Rock, Memphis, Omaha, Peoria, Shreveport, Springfield / Branson, and Tulsa.

The area is home to many highly-rated hotels and resorts, including the oceanfront Henderson Beach Resort which provides coastal ambiance in recently renovated rooms.
Destin is also known as “the luckiest fishing village in the world”, with sport fishing enthusiasts from around the world traveling to the area for annual competitions.
