The Bronx Bombers haven’t been throwing bombs in Camden Yards. There was a time in a not-so-distant past when a trip to this ballpark meant little more than a few easy games for the New York Yankees. The Baltimore Orioles weren’t good and it was an easy low-stress journey for the Yankees. But things have changed since then and now the O’s are perhaps the greatest rivals of the Pinstripes in AL East. Now Juan Soto has added another chapter to this rivalry after his epic staredown with Dean Kremer.
While the New York Yankees lost the game again, Soto was a rare bright spot for them. Amidst a Kremer-induced hitting paralysis, the Dominican superstar had a great day at the office. Soto drew a walk, hit a single, and finally homer against Kremer. However, it was his 447-foot rocket that induced an iconic moment between the two. The Yankees star stared down the O’s pitcher right after his hit and flipped the bat.
As a result, Soto was asked whether Kremer said anything to him after the staredown. “I don’t know ask him,” Soto replied. In another interview (via New York Post), Soto also shared that he stared down Kremer because “it’s part of the game,” and Kremer and him were continuously going against each other. The pitcher didn’t like his shuffle so Soto hit a homer – hoping he won’t like that either.

However, while Soto earned personal bragging rights over the pitcher, it was nonetheless another below-average game for the New York Yankees hitting staff. Apart from homers by Soto and Dren Kreemer the Pinstripes couldn’t get the job done. With the team losing 4-2, the Yankees and Orioles now sit with 19 wins but with the O’s ahead due to only 10 losses.
That has once again heated up the rivalry between the two teams. If that wasn’t enough, the O’s did something else to troll the Bronx fans after they complained about the team pushing back its right field wall.

“They have a great team, we have a great team…We putting the guys in on base they putting the guys on base. Then they just getting the balls landing all over the field and we couldn’t land a couple more,” Soto said. The superstar looked visibly upset after the Yankees experienced another loss against the O’s. However, the Yankees fans complained about the wall the O’s constructed over the Camden Yards. Now an interesting post on X is making rounds.

According to the Barstool Baseball, the O’s have kept an auction on a flyball hit by Oswaldo Cabrera. Titled “3 years ago it’s a tie game,” the ball refers to the complaints of the wall increasing the size of the field. With a $50 price attached to it, the gesture is being seen as a massive troll move against the Bronx Bombers.
So it seems the rivalry isn’t ending anytime soon. With both teams competing hard against each other, the AL East is witnessing an epic showdown.
