Avelo Airlines Is Adding a New Route to Atlanta and Bringing Back These Flights to Florida

Avelo Airlines is expanding its presence in the Delaware and Philadelphia region, just over a year after the carrier returned commercial flights to the Wilmington Airport.

Avelo will launch brand-new service from the Wilmington Airport (ILG) to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), as well as restart flights to several popular Florida destinations like Palm Beach in November, according to the airline. With the expansion, Avelo will fly nonstop to 13 different destinations from Wilmington.

The low-cost carrier will operate these routes on a Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

“Our Customers tell us they love the convenience, affordability and reliability of flying Avelo at ILG,” Avelo Airlines’ Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in a statement, adding the airline is “proud to be the Philadelphia / Delaware Valley region’s airline of choice and continue growth at ILG.”

The new Atlanta flights will operate twice each week on Mondays and Fridays starting November 8. To celebrate the new route, flights start at just $46 one-way when purchased by Aug. 13 for travel between November 8 and Novembe 18.

In addition, Avelo will bring back flights to several cities in Florida starting with twice-weekly service to Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) on November 7 with flights operating on Thursdays and Sundays. On November 8, the carrier will restart flights to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) on Mondays and Fridays, followed by flights to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting November 23.

Avelo first launched as an airline in 2021 and brought commercial flights back to Delaware in 2023 after a temporary drought with none. The airline has continued to expand its route network, including starting flights to Puerto Rico last year and announcing plans last month to fly to its first international destinations in Mexico and Jamaica.

Avelo operates an ultra-low-cost model and charges for extras like seat assignments, checked bags, and carry-on bags.
